I can't say anything about the food I didn't get a chance to hit here but we came for our anniversary weekend here to the shore and decided to grab a burger, this look like a super cool place. But we have a service dog, a legitimate service dog. When we walked in we felt like we were tagging by two people to inquire about our dog. Which is fine it's understandable. We were prepared for questions. However the man that was there was very cool toward us and said I have to ask you these questions and I can only ask you two. Is this a service dog, we replied yes it is and then he said well the only other question I can ask you is what tashi performs and I responded with what her dog is trained for. Then he just stood there staring at us. And then he said well those are the only two questions I can ask so I now have to determine whether thats or not. Well to say I was shocked is another statement. It's not as if our small service dog was behaving out of control she was actually in a little bed being carried by my husband. Then he said well you know the rules she can't be on the seats and we said yeah we understand that, so my husband replied we have her ID and everything and he said so you know she can't be on the seat, it's like he wanted to continue pursuing whether or not we knew rules which we explained that we do. And he was not very nice about it he was actually showing us that we were not very welcome there. So we said you know what we're just going to leave and as we left he said yeah that's what I thought. Like we're faking but who would want to eat there will be treated so poorly. It's raining cats and dogs and we were really looking forward to a good meal but we couldn't enjoy a good meal and a place like this anyway. It's a shame because he doesn't know if we were just going to order our food and leave even after the way we were treated but after being treated so shabbily we just hit the road. So if you have a service dog and you wanted to eat here you might have to bring every proof under the sun even though it's illegal if you wanted to eat here that bad. I personally didn't and I do have proof but by law I don't have to show it. But for people that are kind I'm willing to I know it's no sweat off their back that we won't be eating there and that we're leaving a bad review but if they treat us bad just for the dog, who knows what else would that annoy them and they're so touchy about. I'd rather trust my dog and my dog's little dog friends then this human being because he seemed very mean. Pet...
Read moreThe food was great and server was great. But I have a service dog and felt harassed by the person who checked us in. I am totally fine answering the proper questions but TECHNICALLY by the ADA law the two questions are only to be asked WHEN ITS NOT OBVIOUS THAT ITS A SERVICE ANIMAL. My fully vested well behaved dog made it extremely obvious. And then when I answered his question of "what is the service dog trained to do" I said "medical alert" and was told "that is not a definition". YES IT ACTUALLY IS. Staff needs to update themselves on the actual ADA law and not what they think they need to do. It's very black and white and very easy to understand. Also in my mom's review they say that service dogs have to be under the table. That is absolutely not true. A service does not have to do anything that may impede it from tasking. They also said service dogs have to wear a harness or such and that is also absolutely not true.
I understand completely that people are ruining it for us service dog handlers by faking their dogs. I run into it every day. But that does not give you the right to make service dog handlers feel like second class citizens because we need our medical devices with us.
These are pulled straight from the ADA LAW. Q7. What questions can a covered entity's employees ask to determine if a dog is a service animal? A. In situations where it is not obvious that the dog is a service animal, staff may ask only two specific questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform? Staff are not allowed to request any documentation for the dog, require that the dog demonstrate its task, or inquire about the nature of the person's disability.
Q8. Do service animals have to wear a vest or patch or special harness identifying them as service animals? A. No. The ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or...
Read moreWe had an absolutely horrible experience. If I could rate it less than one star, I would. First off the restaurant itself was very uncleanly looking, and understaffed. One of which, was a young boy who looked to be between the ages of eight and ten. Whom I watched eating from a basket of fries in the main kitchen area. Which I know from having worked in a commercial kitchen, and obtaining my food handlers card that it is against the health code. It took them a few minutes to seat us. Then we were completely ignored for several more minutes. Until my ten month old daughter picked up one of their menus, and was curiously waiving it around. The waitress then came over to our table, and snatched the menu from my daughter's hands. Snapping at us, "can I get her something to play with, other than one of our menus?" I was shocked, and livid. I am a very understanding, person. If she would have asked me if my daughter could please not play with their menus, I would have been more than happy to address the situation. But coming over and ripping something from the hands of my infant, is absolutely not okay with me. At that point we had been ready to order for a few minutes. But the waitress immediately walked away. Then we watched a couple who were seated after us, recieve their drinks. The next time the waitress passed us, my husband flagged her down and told her we were ready to order. We were told another waiter on their staff would be with us in a minute. After another couple minutes had passed, the waiter who was supposed to be helping us bustled past our table and started clearing the booth adjoined to us. At that point we were done. We gathered our things and left. After almost 20 minutes in a dirty restaurant, without so much as a drink order being taken. And the only acknowledgement, being when my daughter had a menu ripped away from her. This restaurant is a joke, and we will...
