Hoovers Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Newport

I just moved and live a mile away from Hoover's and will be going here a lot no doubt. I'll edit this review with more info later, but the place is nicely kept and the staff very friendly. The locals very friendly as well. I got a Rogue Stout for $4.50 which is a good price and had a cheeseburger that hit the spot. They made me feel right at home. Update: Well it's been 3 years now and like I said in my original review, I do go there quite often. The chicken wings are awesome, everything Marvin makes is delicious and they cater to my animal based diet with crazy orders I give them. There's a great outdoor seating area with a TV so smokers have a place to do their thing and don't feel like an outcast. It's fun to play pool, put some tunes on at the jukebox...

I just want to say, I think it’s a shame when customers feel entitled even when they are drugged out, wasted & clearly posing an obvious safety issue to other patrons, to come down on the staff for needing to step in to ensure everyone’s safety. That IS a bartenders job to do as well. Most of the remarks made about staff were slanderous to say the least. Clearly a lot of posts from people who were in the same party that same night. A bartender that doesn’t ask a party to leave when they become a problem and potential risk to themselves and other patrons isn’t doing his/her due diligence. Seems to me she was trying to do the right thing and now you’re embarrassed. Don’t tear people down to build yourself...

We pulled into their parking lot today in our RV and we were trying to find a spot that would be best to park so we could go in for a drink so we pulled up on one side to assess the area. A woman with red hair (Who obviously worked there) saw us from the doorway And stormed over and started yelling at us that we couldn’t park there. We said we were moving, which should’ve been pretty apparent to her by us not even turning the motor off and not getting out of our RV. She continued to yell at us “Leave! Go! Now!” So we sure did leave. Thanks to her harassing us you lost our business and respect today. What a way to treat tourists who were coming to support...
