Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the...

I have lived in New England and Rhode Island specifically my whole life at 55 years old I happen to be down in Bowen wharf doing some work. I saw a little takeout window that said Luke’s lobster. I decided to try my luck. I think I have had lobster rolls from every place in Rhode Island that serves them. Can I just say this was not only the best lobster roll I had ever had. It was right up there with the best thing I had ever eaten. If you enjoy a lobster roll there are a few things that will turn you off immediately tough meat, pieces of shell, And a crappy roll. This lobster roll was filled, but not overfilled with the most tender flesh lobster I had ever eaten very lightly coated with a buttery mayonnaise, almost unable, but added a great flavor. The roll was freshly grilled to perfection. Not one single piece of lobster shell and I was able to delicately eat it standing up and not making a mess. It was absolutely divine. I highly recommend grabbing the 4 ounce lobster roll And sitting on or at their little tables or even take it on the go and walk around Bowen wharf it is absolutely the most decadent lobster roll. I have ever eaten. PS I’ve been there three times since. So Fresh and prepared so well no toothpick required. If you come to Newport, you...

As we were figuring out where we can eat in the area on a busy Friday evening without reservations in a highly rated restaurant, Luke’s Lobster came up on a google map. After reading all the reviews i got interested and we decided to trade our wishful thinking of having a fancy dinner in to just getting the lobster rolls from this place for to go. And it didn’t disappoint!!!

The lobster rolls were amazing, the portions were great, and the price ($40 for each oder that you see on the pictures) was reasonable. The Flight and the Mainer comes with a bag of chips and a drink which was a nice addition. I recommend trying the lemonade on one of my pictures. I typically drink nothing but water but this lemonade was very light and yummy.

As we were like ā€œoh, where are we going to sit down to eat these rollsā€, the staff pointed to a few tables with umbrellas that they have for customers. Perfect service, perfect food, quick and satisfying! Great job, Luke’s...

Always looking for new places with gluten-free options, and I’m so glad we made the drive to Luke’s Lobster in Newport. The food was excellent—I got the lobster roll flight which included lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter. Each one was delicious and packed with flavor. I informed Patrick that I have a gluten allergy, and he was extremely professional. He let me know he’s certified in allergy handling and took precautions like cleaning surfaces and changing gloves before preparing my order. While they are gluten friendly (so there is still a small risk of cross-contamination), they treated my order with care, and I felt safe eating there. I also tried the gluten-free clam chowder and poppyseed coleslaw—both were fantastic. Great food, thoughtful service, and overall a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back!

I'm a Maine native and lobster connoisseur, the hot honey lobster roll at Luke's may be the best I ever had. It brought together my love of spice and lobster in a perfect nearly indescribable way. I'm sure their classic take is also amazing, but I love a spin on a lobster roll (sorry to the purist out there) and this one was a 10/10. This is no measly roll either, it is a heaping portion as you would want for the usual high market price of a lobster roll (I got the larger size). The lobster has a full taste, not bland like some rolls. It was worth every penny. And for any Amex Gold Card holders you will be happy to know that this place qualifies for the $100 resy credit, which was a fun surprise for me! This little shack deserves a visit if you are in the Newport area.

Luke’s Lobster is settled in the front of a cute wharf area with other bars, shops and restaurants. They had this delicious Maine blueberry lemonade option. Seating was very limited- you order from a window and they hand it to you to-go or they bring it to your table which is across the dock. We couldn’t find seats with shade so ended up having to buy a pastry from another spot to use their table. We got the medium size cold lobster roll and it was decent but almost seemed the lobster had been frozen or over cooked as some pieces were chewy like clam. Overall- flavor was fine but lacked some depth. For $40 I think we’d pass next time
