O'Brien's Pub — Restaurant in Newport

I don't know what kind of off day others had but I had one great experience coming here. It was my second time exploring the streets of Newport and this time I brought my dog. Now, I already had a bias against any of the pubs because I had some pretty terrible service from one down the street. However I needed some place that was dog friendly and this place fit the bill perfectly. Not only do they have a pretty decent draft beer selection for a hot summer day they also brought my dog a huge water bowl that dwarfed the little one I carried around in my backpack for her. The food I ordered came quick (which was my major gripe against other cafe/pubs in the area) and it was really well made. I ordered the chicken BLT wrap with pasta salad. The wrap was great, not too soggy from the tomatoes or the sauce and it was hearty enough to be a filling meal after walking around for a couple hours. The pasta salad was home-made and tasted amazing like they gave it the proper amount of time for all the flavors to settle into the mix before serving. Then if the water bowl wasn't enough they offered to cook a dog-friendly meal for my little friend. The waitstaff didn't even mind when I asked to keep an eye on her while I stepped off to use the restroom. My mother and I have lived on the island our whole life and we'd been wanting to try "O'brein's" for quite some time. We previously had bad eating experience saturday night that left something to be desired. And besides Saturday, our other previous food experiences haven't been the best. "O'brein'" however was an actual fantastic success! Oh. My. Goddess! The food was perfect! I got the "Vegetarian Burger adding Chedder Jack Cheese + Sauteed onions & mushrooms (Lettuce, Onion & Tomato) w/ a side of fries" and Mum got the "Ruben w/ Fries". The food came out hot, nothing was greasy AT ALL (it felt borderline healthy) and the portion sizes were perfect! It was enough to make you very comfortable satisfied, while also providing enough room for dessert if you want to stop for some! And the fries 🤤 So crispy without the heavy grease feel! It was perfect and satisfying! An amazing change from our outing and food fails lately! I do highly recommend the "Vegetarian Burger" if you are vegetarian or want something new! We really enjoyed our visit here. O'Brians Pub is a def must try restaurant/tavern. New England clam chowder was amazing and the chicken tenders were the best we ever had. They were also the meatiest with a juicy tenderness and yummy crunchy breading that made you want more. We ordered another plate lol... YUMM!!😋 Bought my baby one of their long sleeve T-Shirts in Navy blue. They came in a variety of colors (Irish green just ain't his color) with O'Brians Pub in big letters on the back of it and smaller letters on the upper left pocket on the front. Kinda looked like his work T shirt. I think that's why I bought it. He loves that dang work Tee Lol. Price: Only$15.

Oh, almost forgot Our pup Ella couldn't get enough of those delicious chicken tenders. Yes as u can see O'Brians is dog friendly but only for out door dining. If u smoke and have a pup as well behaved as Ella was you will be quite happy drinking n dining out side. There's a heater too. Just gotta get it girl to light it lmao.
