Strong's Brick Oven Pizzeria — Restaurant in Newport

We were at the Newport Aquarium and searching online for a nearby place for some good pizza afterward, and saw this was in easy walking distance and had great reviews. We don't always believe every review but WOW, we were glad we took the chance of going here because it was a STELLAR experience. First, the cool old brick building--- loved the retro atmosphere, loved the decor, got seated in a room with authentic old-time brick walls, so cozy and comfy and nice & clean! Then the service---- super nice waitress named Ashley was just the best waitress we ever had anywhere, so genuinely friendly, polite, and helpful, our order was accurate and we got it quickly, all in our party agreed it was over-the-top delicious. We had a bruschetta appetizer, then a Greek "Mindy's Mediterranean" pizza with pesto cream sauce, mozzarella, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and feta cheese. and another pizza which was one half "The Meat" and the other half just cheese.

Then Ashley brought in the dessert, the "Heavenly White Pie" which is white chocolate pizza topped with powdered sugar with your choice of raspberry, chocolate, or caramel sauce on top--- we got the raspberry sauce, extra yummy! We were all just blown away by how good it all was, and we were STUFFED... even had pizza to take home, nice generous portions.

They had a nice clean restroom with cute red and gray decor. When we went to leave, it had been raining and I was concerned about going back down the wet front steps outside as I have a slight knee problem, so Ashley kindly got the side door opened up for me where there was a ramp instead of steps, which made all the difference for me. My kids and I received a recommendation from a Taxi driver for a good pizzeria. He mentioned Strongs in Newport close to the Aquarium. He mentioned fresh ingredients and great taste. Well he couldn’t have been more correct. The waiter did a great job and he interacted and treated my kids as though they were young adults my daughter is 9 and my son is 14 and they don’t like being treated like infants and ignored like by some waitstaff. The meatballs were Dynamite 1.5 inch in diameter if not slightly larger and there were 4 of them. The pizza after the meatballs was difficult to beat. The pizza dough was perfect thickness for the toppings. Enjoyable flavors from the toppings and sauce. When kids want more and say on their own how good the food is and how friendly everyone is including the owners who came over and introduced themselves. Just a CLASS ACT with especially VERY CLEAN bathrooms, and any one with kids looks for cleanliness. The Owners surprised us with a dessert that was extremely tasty it was canolis in a pie shape. The price was extremely reasonable for the amount of food and leftovers we had for a snack. I usually don’t leave reviews but on this Restaurant I felt it necessary to say it’s well worth your time and tastebuds to check it out. We will enjoy their food again in the future. Travelers...

I am at a loss for words!! What an amazing experience 😊. Strongs in Newport has always held a very special place in my heart and today was the cherry on top! I was greeted by the new owners (same amazing pizza) and was shocked to not only meet a friendly face but a new friend. The personable experience made celebrating my 22nd birthday all the more special. The owners, Cindy and Steve were quick to make sure our food was perfect as well as treat us to a couple desserts making a small dinner a five star experience. We talked for what seemed forever and genuinely enjoyed each others company! The owners make it a mission to make sure you have the best experience and if for some reason you’re not, they will do everything they can to accommodate to your needs! We got the three cheese Bianca pizza and as usual it was delish - it’s been our favorite for a few years now! We were treated to a white chocolate pizza and some cannolis and I’m pretty sure my boyfriend ate the whole entire pizza 🥴. They have a few different flavors of the dessert pizzas and we NEED to try them all. Anyways, if you find yourself in Newport, Ky and have a hankering for some pizza, a good meatball, dessert, drinks, good company, etc. you will find all and more at Strongs!
