Starbucks — Restaurant in Newton

The kind man at the register explained to me that everyone who pays with a credit card, is shown a screen for tipping. This is a function of how the system operates. You do need to make a selection (there is a no tip option) at that screen for it to proceed to payment. Highlighting your attention to this screen is not them “begging” for tips, but merely a way to facilitate the whole payment process being done in a timely manner. Drinking from a mud puddle is preferable to stopping here. They don't provide gold members the perks that they earned, such as a free coffee or tea refill. They don't clean their bathroom or keep it stocked with toilet paper. It seems the employees are more interested in talking about their sex lives than providing excellent customer service. This Starbucks was busier than I expected it to be but it was well staffed and the order was made timely and correctly. Perhaps it was busier than usual because a nearby Starbucks I used to frequent was closed. It was worth going the extra mile or so to this store.
