Express Gourmet — Restaurant in Wellesley

This is an olden type place that is being preserved from the franchise chains that are replacing them. The place is nicely done up and has potential to be a great place. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the service. We were greeted by a person whom I suspect to be a disgruntled employee as she seemed neither happy to see us or be helpful despite the place being completely empty. We ordered two wraps and one panni. The wraps didn’t look or taste fresh and when the panini arrived there was a long piece of hair stuck in between the sandwich; it came out with cheese still stuck on it all around when we pulled it out showing that it has been grilled with it but the employee was trying to act surprised and was saying it doesn’t look like hers even though she agreed to replace it. The young man working the counter was pleasant. I noticed they had an assortment of smoothies and health drinks you can customize which was a nice concept. I however came in for breakfast, the food was presented on a paper plate and the food looked the furthest from fresh or inviting, I do not suggest breakfast here. The staff person was nice, I wish I could have given a good breakfast review. Suggestions, I dont mind overcooked bacon as long as it doesnt look dried out, old and crumbly. The home fries looked old and were barely warm, the french toast was not impressive either. Even the orange juice looked like a concentrated cup of orange slime. Now the suggestion, before serving, think about things like freshness and appearance, remember a successful business especially a food business is about repeat business and consistency. Good luck! I just wanted to offer some constructive criticism bc I just had one of the worst chicken caesar wraps in my life (and I love ccws). there’s far to much dry, flavorless chicken in this wrap. it’s unevenly spread and ruins the whole thing. you need a good balance of lettuce, like mostly lettuce. and the chicken could use some flavor, so you could potentially mix dressing in with the entire innards of the wrap to ensure proper dispersal as well. anyways, I hope this changes bc i’m actually so disappointed...
