If you’re an espresso aficionado or someone who truly cares about coffee—knowledgeable about processing, varietal, region, elevation, and extraction—this is your best bet in the area. I’m a former professional barista (through the second and third waves) and now a meticulous home barista in the fourth wave. After moving from Philadelphia—a city spoiled with fourth-wave roasters—I was grateful to discover Calm Waters. They’re the only local spot offering a comparable experience. They feature rotating single-origin espresso and drip selections, usually leaning toward Scandinavian roast profiles, which is a huge win around here—especially when most nearby roasters in Yardley and New Hope still seem stuck halfway through the second wave. My only knock—and this would only be noticeable if you’re a coffee nerd like myself—is consistency behind the bar. The roasting is top-tier, but the execution can vary from barista to barista. Most of the time, the shots are well-pulled. Today’s, for instance, was beautifully balanced (just a touch over-extracted) and actually inspired me to write this review. On a previous visit, they even obliged my request to serve the espresso in my personal Kruve glass—another small gesture that shows they care about the craft. Still, the pour overs have been consistently excellent. Are they as good as Philly standouts like Vibrant, Ultimo, ReAnimator, or Elixr? Or the nationally celebrated roasters like Onyx, Proud Mary, or Black & White? I’d say they’re pretty darn close—and for the suburbs, I’m pretty darn grateful. I’d just love to see the barista training rise to match the quality of the roasting. Thanks, Calm Waters!

I have been a regular at this place for years, before it was taken over by a chain. It’s now a generic coffee place selling underwhelming coffee. But with few choices it town, they have been able to price gouge customers with $7 lattes. But now that their coffee is on par with Starbucks, I’ll walk down the street for the same coffee in a better setting. Too bad, they had a loyal local following that has slipped away.

Hands down the service and atmosphere of this place is great. Unfortunately, I was really looking forward to try the coffee here after hearing so many great things about Calm Waters. But, I can’t say the cappuccino and latte impressed me too much. To be honest, I left a little disappointed since that’s what I came here for. I’m optimistic for next time.

COME IN! AMAZING COFFEE! JUST POPPED IN LOOKING FOR A LOCAL COFFEE SHOP AFTER A NEWTOWN DRS. APPOINTMENT. I WANTED TO GIVE A LOCAL BUSINESS MY MONEY NOT *$'S! I FOUND MY HAPPY PLACE! MICHELLE WELCOMED ME WITH OPEN ARMS AS SOON AS I WALKED IN! WHAT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! LOVE HER MORNING HAPPINESS! FOR COFFEE, I TRIED THE "LA FLORIDA" COFFEE WHICH HAD MARSHMALLOW, BROWNIE AND HONEY TONES! I'M OBSESSED! SO SMOOTH AND NOT OVERWHELMING WHICH FLAVORED COFFEES SOMETIMES DO. THIS DOESN'T! DELICIOUS!! TASTY LIKE NO COFFEE I HAVE TRIED IN A LONG TIME! THE "FOR HERE" COFFEE CUPS ARE SO FUN TO HOLD! OBSESSED WITH THEM! I WISH THEY SOLD THEM WITH THEIR LOGO! I WOULD BUY A FEW! THEY ALSO HAVE JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF MORNING SNACKS IF YOU ARE HUNGRY TOO OR WANT SOMETHING WITH YOUR COFFEE - BAGELS, PASTRIES, BISCOTTIS. AMAZING COFFEE! CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK! BEST...

I visited first time this coffee shop with a giftcard today when was under the name The Coffee Room. It was given to me as I recovered from two replacement surgeries. Unknown to me, the shop had changed names and ownership recently . I was told it should still be good, but apparently not. I had selected a food item, gave my gift card and was turned away saying it wasnt in their system. Honestly, that was bad business. The cost of a single croissant to make a nice gesture would have led me and friends to return there. I would never get a coffee there now. Bad business practice in my professional opinion. Afterall, a senior with a get well gift card was turned away at the counter in front of...
