This is the 3rd time I have been to this location, I stopped in today September 13, 2024 at 2:20 PM. Walked in and there was no one behind the counter, so I stood around for almost 5 minutes... no sign on the door, no sign on the counter, no body in the entire place except myself. So I walked out and saw a girl sitting at one of the outdoor tables eating a poke bowl, so I asked her if she worked there, NOPE, asked if there was anyone working there. She said there was no one at the counter when she went in also but they eventually came out from the back. So I went back in again, still no one, I finally yelled "is anyone in here". Eventually this guy comes out from the back and just stares at me then picks up an empty clear plastic polk bowl. He never says anything just looks at me. I tell him that with how loud he has the music cranked up that there is no way I can talk to him or hear him and he just shrugs his shoulders and continues to stare slack-jawed at me. And then finally he speaks and over the music I can hear him say "Are you going to order something?" He never bothers to greet me, or turn down the music or even really do his job. I had stopped to buy POLK bowls for the family for dinner tonight, as I said this is the third time I've been in here, the first 2 times it was also kind of odd and empty and service was pretty apathetic. But this is just pointless, he obviously hates his job and no one, the manager, the business owner, no one has taught this guy about customer service and basic common curtesy.
Thats it, I'm finished not coming back in here. Not a single other customer in the store and this guy can't be bothered to do the job he's...
Read moreThe Asian woman, who I believe is the manager, is one of the rudest people you’ll ever come across in the food service industry. Last week my 5 yr old and I went in to order two bowls to go. She snapped at me because my daughter had to go to the bathroom and we hadn’t ordered yet “customers only!”. I told her to calm down and she was annoyed when we came out. There is a bunch of Asian artifacts at the ordering counter so my little one touched a lamp thing, just to see what it felt like. She snapped at her about it. Then after our order to go we were walking out and my daughter forgot her coat and the lady goes “exit that way!”. I finally snapped at her and told her I’m never coming back. I was excited when this place opened, I’ve tried giving it as much business as I can, but she’s just so rude that on principle I can’t go back anymore. And it’s progressively gotten worse and worse with her. The food is ok. It used to taste fresher but has gone down. The one in Glenview is worth the extra drive for me just based off service and freshness alone. If the area directors read this know you’ve lost a loyal customer who probably spent $50-100 a month here and it’s solely off the rude manager who is so cold and rude when customers walk in. That’s it. The rest I could deal with just based off how close you are to me. But I’m done. Do not recommend. Go anywhere else then this location unless you want to experience a true, cold hearted...
Read moreIt was my first visit, it was my last visit. I found the Asian woman to be quite impatient and somewhat rude at my lack of complete understanding of all my options for putting together a bowl. She eventually just walked away and went into the back area behind the curtains. The younger man ended up finishing my order. He was much more polite and took some time to explain some of the options to me. He pointed out the that eggs were $.50 extra if I chose those. He neglected to tell me that many of the other toppings were $1 extra. In fact, as he put it, I could "have as much of the toppings as I wanted." I ended up choosing many of the extra cost items as he was not forthcoming about the pricing. You might think that he would point out that almost every topping I chose cost more money but silence ensued. What I ended up with was a $35 bill for two bowls. My wife was already seated and had begun eating hers so I was locked in. $35 for two people will get you a much better meal in many places. What I ate was NOT worth that money. I felt that I was taken advantage of. I most certainly will not be returning. The bowls at Mariano's are much better, have twice the amount of fish and only cost $20. What prompted my actual review here is that when I asked for a couple of cups of water, I was refused and told I must purchase the water! I just spent $35 and I can't get any water?...
