I was in tonight at 730 and when I walked in lady just setting behind the regester I think on her phone another male employee just hanging out across the way not really doing anything. I was picking up an order to go but was early so had to wait no biggie. When I believe a manager or owner came out and said something to both employees and they lost it. I believe the owner was only talking about bringing in another employee to help during the busy time on Sundays. Both employees let her have it ruthlessly. Male said if this is how ur gonna be I'm putting in my two weeks notice as of now and went on ranting the lady said several things over and over like ur taking food off my table money from my pocket I won't work Sundays I'll find another job exc. I felt bad for the owner if she's the owner. The conversation shouldn't have been out in the dining area. After she walked away the employees kept going on and bad mouthing her and the place in general. I have always been treated so nice by the owner and after everything she brought my order out with a smile like always and treated me with great respect. Now I forgot to mention I wasn't only customer in at the time everyone listened to the employees going off on her. The food was good as always and owner nice and polite very...
Read moreOnly drive thru service avaliable due to covid. The food was barely mediocre at best. I ordered the cashew chicken and paying $10.75 for a plate I'd expect at least a few pieces of chicken but it was mostly vegetables with lots of celery, and the fried rice was so dry it must've come from the desert. My partner ordered the sweet and sour chicken and had the sauce been on the side it may have been decent but by the time we got home it was soggy. The egg drop soup came with a pack of saltine crackers which I've never seen from a Chinese restaurant no matter how mediocre. The only saving grace and the only reason I'm giving two stars is because the girl at the window was very sweet and she gave me a good laugh. I may try this place in the future but it won't...
Read moreAfter moving to Defiance nearly three years ago from Columbus, one thing I sorely missed was some good Chinese takeout. Before China Garden opened, the only other place in town was in the food court at the mall. While I didn't give China Garden five stars, it deserves at least four and maybe an extra half-star The food is really good. The only problem that I have is that they try to cram three pounds of food (entree, rice & egg roll) into one Styrofoam container. The last time I brought food home from China Garden the sauce from one entree leaked all over the bag and made a huge mess. Why no oyster pail containers with the folding lids on top and a wire handle? Putting sauces in plastic containers? All would be very nice and would...
