The artwork/paintings and tables/chairs were very nice. The ceiling lights were not turned on when we went for lunch - we could see because it was daytime and there are quite a bit of windows, but it just seemed weird. The choriqueso was good, but that was the only thing we actually liked. My house margarita was a bright green and clearly made from a pre-made mix. It was probably the worst margarita I've ever had. I asked about the top shelf, but they said they used the same mix for top shelf and house, so I passed. It sat at the end of the table, and I wasn't asked once if it was okay or why I didn't drink it. The food was nothing exceptional - some over-seasoned and some bland. Our son didn't take more than 2 or 3 bites of his cheesy rice, which he normally loves. The bill was $65 for 2 adults and a child. I definitely won't go back based on this visit. We tipped 20% because the food isn't our servers fault, but I do wish they'd have been a bit more attentive and asked for some feedback on how...
Read moreOMG! We have been trying to find a Mexican Restaurant since El Camino shut down on 10th Street. We have tried just about every place in 10 mile radius. We are looking no further than here! El Catarito is THE BEST Mexican restaurant i have EVER been to! That is not an exaggeration or hyperbole. This place is literally AMAZING!!! The food actually has seasoning! The margaritas have alcohol! The service is superb! Xochil (Zochil) is one of the greatest servers I have ever had the pleasure of being being served by. She is a terrific asset and a great person as well. We have gotten to know her over the past few months ths and I highly recommend you ask for her when you come here. And you should absolutely come here! There are not enough adjectives to describe this place! The employees here actually care about the business, the service, tue...
Read moreWe went during lunchtime. The restaurant was pretty empty. Thankfully, service did not ignore us with there not being much going on. That was the strength of the meal. We ordered cheese dip after the salsa with the chips tasted more like pizza sauce. The cheese dip was good, but relatively expensive for the portion. We had enchiladas aztecas and a taco salad. The enchiladas came with beans and rice. Those both felt like they were microwaved, and the beans especially had a weird aftertaste. The enchiladas were pieces of mystery beef, lukewarm taco burritos, and cheese sauce. The taco salad was better overall but nothing special. I wouldn't avoid this place as a last option, but I would certainly order...
