ATMOSPHERE: 0 stars. The first thing you are greeted with when you enter is the smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. We tried to ignore it, but eventually the smell made everything so unappetizing, we couldn't get past the 2nd round. The lady serving us seemed nice enough, but she was nowhere to be found 75% of the time we were there. Definitely ask for all your drinks, napkins, utensils up front before you start eating.
FOOD: 1-2 stars. The portions were not correct. There's far too much rice and "crab meat" in everything. it's more mayo than imitation crab. The fish was not very fresh, it has that several days old taste to it, like it's been left out of the refrigerator too long. They tried to cover it up with sauce but it didn't work. The nigiri here is NOT nigiri. I'm not sure what kind of rice they use, but it's not sushi rice. It tastes more like B grade white rice and overpowered everything else. It sort of just felt like I was eating big balls of rice even though there was fish and wasabi. The fish itself was covered in light oil (presumably to mask the fact that it's not very fresh) and green onions. It was ok, but I have my suspicions it wasn't exactly sushi grade.
Price: 2 stars. I mean, it's AYCE (all you can eat) and prices nowadays have gone up on everything. Approx. $35 give or take depending on lunch vs dinner.
PROS: There were a few good items I tried, volcano roll, Philadelphia roll, yellowtail, these were ok and tasted good but again, mostly overpowered by copious amounts of imitation crab and rice. There was just no balance at all.
Overall, I guess it's fine if you want to have a roll or 2 and enjoy the evening with some friends, but I definitely won't be back again. There are far too many amazing sushi spots in southern California that I'd rather make the 20 minute trip to, as opposed to coming...
Read moreI wish I had read all of the reviews previously but this is an honest first timer unbiased review.
My fiancé and I walked in a little after 5pm - there was only 1 couple dining with their young kids. We sat ourselves. It was blatantly obvious that the host girl did not want to be working. Her face said it all. She was beyond lackadaisical. It took her quite a bit to get us drinks and get our order in for AYCE.
I had to flag the host girl down because I drank all my water and needed more. It took her about 10 minutes or maybe more to even come back to our table - she was hiding up front at the host stand. Again, mind you there’s a total of 4 adults in the entire restaurant. She didn’t fill my water all the way lol which I thought was kind of funny but okay.
During this time another couple of 2 came in - sat themselves - were never served and got up and left…. Which is probably what I should have done lol.
Don’t get me wrong the sushi was fantastic but the slow service and attitude was enough to make me not come here again.
There was 1 cook working all of the orders it looked like and it took about 20 minutes to get our 2nd round of AYCE. He was doing his best though.
I don’t ever leave reviews but I truly hope someone speaks to the host about her attitude.

-update: I had to flag the girl down again for a 3rd round of water. More guests tried to walk in at 6:15pm and they had to ask if the restaurant was still open - the host replied something and the 3 guests walked out. Dear Manager, you’re losing money by having that host serve your guests. I don’t think I’ve ever been so unimpressed by a host.
Again the food was delicious! The attitude was horrendous. I do have the hosts name but I won’t post it unless the manager...
Read moreI have passed by Koya Sushi few times, today myself and a friend were going to visit friends who live in the Inland Empire area, on the way we called and if they like us to take them some food. Of course free food from visitors are welcomed. We all agreed on Pizza and Sushi. My friend to order pizza and myself walked to Koya Sushi. With my cane in one hand I kind a struggled trying to open the door, the young Asian lady inside rushed to the door and opened the door for me from inside she was a customer with her family getting ready to leave the restaurant (God be with you) hopefully you get to read this review. After I entered the waiter asked me where would you like to seat . I said it is for take out, he gave me the takeout menu and said let me know when you ready. While browsing through the menu and after ordering the food, I looked around the restaurant, beautiful Japanese style decorations, and a nice mellow music, around 15 minutes the food was ready, I didn’t mind if it would take longer, I was enjoying the music and the atmosphere. I had to leave. At friends house everyone liked the sushi and the side dishes. For those who read this review please give it a try you won’t be...
