If you are looking to experience a tea house that you would experience in many countries of the world look no further! You will certainly find it an the Ivy Tea House located in the historic district of Norcross, Georgia. Upon entering my co worker and I were made feel very welcome. We were giving plenty of time to read over the menus. I chose a pot of earl grey tea and ended up ordering a scone. Everything about the tea house and tea service would make you feel like you were in a different Country. The tea was just perfect and the scone was absolutely amazing. It should be noted I am from Dublin, Ireland. If you know anything about Ireland. You will know we love our cup of tea ! It should be noted I have traveled all over the world with the US Marines and the Ivy Tea House rates very high in my experiences of visiting a tea house. The Ivy Tea House rates ten stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and more. Honestly my scone was so good I ended up ordering two more. The Ivy Tea House is ideal for party’s and they will be hosting cultural events in the near future. If you are a serious Tea drinker I highly recommend visiting the Ivy Tea House. I definitely will be visiting the Ivy Tea House in the near future. I Absolutely love this amazing tea house. I ended up talking to my server and the owner. They take so much pride in their work and operation. The Ivy Tea House is definitely a great addition to the historic district of Norcross. Read moreLoved the food and service! The savory tier was varied and delicious. It was not bread-heavy like the new tea house in Alpharetta. The choices of menu rotate here so you have more agency over selections. We had two different menus and shared between us. Perfect! The sweets were varied as well and not sugary sweet again unlike the Alpharetta tea house. There were duplicates of most sweets so you and your guest could both sample and discuss. The tiny scones were delicious but clearly not the highlight (and that was perfectly fine by us!). Having visited several tea houses this summer, our favorite food was found here at the Ivy.
The only things to note: In this unseasonably hot weather, the Ivy had a hard time cooling the house. We were literally dripping sweat. The custard desserts melted. I suggest holding back the "cool" desserts until customers are ready in this heat. To be fair, the A. In the Alpharetta tea house also struggled to keep the custards solid in this weather.
In 100 degree heat, we can skip the individual heaters for the tea pots. ♡
Oh and we watched the lovely interaction between the hostess and two patrons who had a small issue. It was delightful to see the kindness and professionalism and warmth of the hostess. These patrons may have felt othered at various times in their lives but not at the Ivy. There was so much respect and kindness in the interaction which doesn't surprise me given the diversity of their clientele.
FINAL VERDICT:...
Read moreA hidden gem!! I'm sitting here snacking on delicious fruit and scones from the bridal shower that we held here today still in awe at how amazing this event turned out. We were planning my friend's bridal shower and the place we reserved (paid for etc.) called us 2 weeks prior to our event and told us they had scheduled maintenance the weekend we reserved. Of course you know we were stressing as we had people coming from out of town for the event. We called Ivy Tea House on a day they were closed, but they responded and told us they would get back to us. They had space available and could take us. On the day of the event we walked in and were in awe. The place is quaint and cozy! We had half of the shop off to the left and as soon as we walked in we were showered with OUTSTANDING customer service!!! Kat, Nicole and I apologize I forgot the other 2 ladies names but one was the chef(she was so sweet) were great the whole time we were there. They checked on us the whole time made sure our tea pots were filled with our four choices of teas. The tea was great(we had Southern Peach, White Jasmine, Chai, and Lemon Meringue with all the fixings...lol). And the food!! Everything was perfect. The tomato quiche, butter pecan scones and sweet potato bites were my favorites but everyone talked about how good all the food was! I will definitely be back when I'm not hosting a bridal shower so I can relax and take it all in!! Thanks...
