I had an overall exciting experience at this establishment . There were some highs and lows which is to be expected anytime you try a new restaurant . First I will say , this restaurant is very family friendly , reasonably priced and in a prime time downtown Norcross location . On a warm night there’s outside seating . There is a handicap wrap for wheelchairs so all is welcome . There was a stage for live band (Check restaurant for band times ). We came with a party of 11 to celebrate a few birthdays in my family . Our server Noah was pretty steady in the beginning , as the tables picked up we started to see him slightly less . Which can be slightly frustrating . The menu has a plethora of items to choose from . We started off with appetizers . The spinach dip was flavored well The fried green tomatoes were A hit (very crispy & well seasoned ) ‼️The loaded baked potato soup was good as well , the nachos were soggy(according to the person who order them ) , and the Caesar salad was as expected but could’ve used a touch more dressing . The portions for our entrees were of average size and filling. I enjoyed the ribeye steak . There should be rice added to the menu , because all of the meals only had some type of potato or a vegetable as an option . I feel as though my baked sweet potato could’ve been cooked maybe 20 mins more . Slightly hard in the middle . The macaroni noodles were hard as well. Also as a bonus the train rode right by us , which was exciting and unexpected to see . I would return to this restaurant . I enjoyed the liveliness and my meal as well .

We had dinner at the Crossing Steakhouse last night, per the suggestion of my godmother who lives locally. The building is in a quaint square with lots of shops. We went for dinner so most of the shops were closed so we didn't get a chance to check them out. The Crossing Steakhouse building used to be a train station I was told. Definitely old and has lots of character. They had change of train decor throughout. Stefan was our waiter he was very friendly and we enjoyed speaking with him. Very personable guy. We did wait quite a while to order drinks and to order our food, several things were forgotten but Stefan was friendly and tried to make amends. We started with crab cakes which had a really nice spice, I think it may have been too spicy for my godmother though. I really enjoyed it. I had the filet and shrimp, my daughter had sirloin and macaroni and my godmother had the prime rib. I enjoyed my food, I thought it was tasty. My daughter devoured her steak but wasn't a big fan of the macaroni. My godmother had ordered her prime rib medium rare, when it came she said it looked funny and tried to eat it, it had a really strange tinge to it. It looked like an old piece of meat. She eventually sent it out and swapped it for a ribeye instead which wasn't served medium rare. She was disappointed in the food. Manager did stop by and apologized for the food. Because of the experience I am giving the restaurant three stars. ⭐⭐⭐

It wasn't great, but it was good. We probably wouldn't go back. It's kinda cool inside, not enough windows where we sat. The arepa appetizer was ok, good texture, but bland taste. The kid liked it. The wine was fine, plenty of choices for us, though the beer selection was quite poor. The kid menu was ok. The prime rib was good, the au jus and the glaze, which cost extra, were not, not worth using. The salmon was good, the sauce on top was ok, the filet I got was supposed to be well done, but it was cooked on far too high heat for too long, it was past seared and was black, though it did taste good. The cheese cake was nominal, the crust wasn't my favorite. The creme brulee was good. The molten lava cake had no molten lava, but it did come with a lot of ice cream that was fine. All in all it was good, but it just wasn't good enough for the experience I expected to have there. For the price it was better than your normal everyday restaurant, but because it left us feeling like there was still too much lacking we left thinking it wasn't worth it and we'd rather spend a bit more and go somewhere else on a special occasion. We can spend a lot less and make better food at home, and whenever I can say that it's not something I need to go out and spend extra money to get. Instead of being content and pleasantly happy with the experience we were left feeling like we should have gone elsewhere.

We went on a business lunch as a large party. The hostess was friendly. She was able to seat us within a minute of our arrival. We were seated in the front room with the barn doors. You could see the trains go by. It is a nice size room for a private gathering. It was cool in the room. They had a heater on the floor to help warm up the room. The waitress also said she turned the thermostat up. For those of us on the far end of the table, the room never seemed to heat up.

We ordered sampler plates, extra fried green tomatoes, and mushrooms as appetizers. All of those were good. At first I heard good things about some people's entrees. I later learned that some people were disappointed with their food. The NYS steaks, ribeye steaks, loaded potatoes, fried shrimp, brussell sprouts and the sheppard's pie were good. Unfortunately, a cesar salad was returned as one didn't like the taste of the cesar dressing. Two people said their food was cold and they actually rcvd their food first. Some of the chkn tenders were overcooked. The salmon portions were on the smaller side. Some of the glasses weren't as clean. Some new glassware would be great.

We weren't asked how our food was and if we needed anything. I did hear her ask a separate party of two across the way. The waitress would come and occasionally remove plates and refill beverages. We had to ask for extra napkins, straws, take out containers and bags. At times, she would return with a singular item requested. i.e. napkin and steak sauce. IMO, those were moments when she could've asked if anyone else needed anything. At one point, she threw straws on the table when one was requested versus handing it to me. When the salad was given back, no one asked what was wrong with it and if they would like something else. At one point she actually rolled her eyes. It was seen by several people. When things were addressed later, she had a response for everything.

The manager Michael was pleasant. He apologized for the service. Explained they were down a person. He asked if there was something he could do. I told him we needed bags and we were getting ready to leave. It would've been nice if he proactively offered complimentary dessert or to take something off our bill. He was the same person that I spoke to when I made the reservation. Initially, on a different call, I was told that I had to send an email as the schedule didn't go out as far as my date. I never rcvd a reply to the email and it was not returned as undeliverable. I had to call a second time to secure the reservation.

Overall, the experience with The Crossing did not make our group...

Went to the Crossing for the first time today with my wife. My wife ordered a filet, medium, along with some grilled onions.

The server brought sautéed mushrooms, and her steak was between medium-well and well. She let him know that she ordered onions rather than mushrooms, and he picked it up and tried to turn away without a word, and she proceeded to inform him that the steak was overcooked. He pointed to the steak, rolled his eyes and sighed, and walked away. No words. He then came back and said he would take that steak and will have another "in a couple of minutes."

While waiting on the steak, he refilled our waters and set them down rather aggressively.

When he brought out the steak and onions, he basically dropped it on the table and walked away with no words again.

This steak was rare. Dark red. Cold center. These filets are not thick either. It felt as if either the server or the cooks or both had decided to undercook her steak completely.

When the server came back, we informed him the steak was rare, but we would take boxes and cook the steak ourselves. He brought only one box for both of us.

I would like to say that my wife was nothing but kind and respectful to him. She is currently a server and bartender, so she knows how to treat a restaurant staff. She was even apologetic about the steak, as if it were her fault that the thin filet was overcooked.

Our ticket had no discount, but we still tipped over 25% to our server. We have never felt more disrespected by a server. John T was rude and disrespectful.

We will...
