I have never had such poor customer service at a restaurant. My friends and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my pregnancy and gender reveal tonight and when ordering I asked the server if I could have a margarita without the tequila. She said blankly “no- we don’t serve drinks without alcohol.” I was surprised and said oh ok so they’re all pre-mixed (assuming alcohol was already part of the drink)? She said “no- our manager says we cannot serve drinks without alcohol.” I said ok but I’m pregnant and will pay the regular price can you just have the bartender withhold the alcohol so I can celebrate (the rest of our party had ordered their drinks). The server said she would ask the manager.
She came back and said “the manager says we don’t serve drinks without alcohol.” So I asked to speak with the manager trying to explain that I’m not trying to jip them money because I want an alcohol free drink- I’m literally celebrating my pregnancy. I waited over 30 minutes and no manager ever came. I asked our serve multiple times for the manager and she said the manager is busy. One time she even pointed to the manager who was rearranging the patio. The manager just blatantly ignored me. Eventually some young gentlemen came out- didn’t explain who he was but said it was the restaurant and the owners policy to not serve drinks without alcohol. So I asked for the owner’s contact information. At this point we were almost done with our meal, and I just wanted to simply understand why a pregnant woman couldn’t get a drink without the alcohol. Mind blowing. The guy blew me off, the server kept ignoring my request and at the very end said we don’t give out the owner’s info. I said I can’t have the general restaurant’s email for issues and concerns? She said no and that was that. I have never felt so disrespected as a patron and as a pregnant woman. Spend your money at another one of the amazing local restaurants who are much kinder to...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place based on the ratings. I placed a to go order of a soup and a quesadilla dish with mushrooms. I wanted about 15 mins which was fine. When I tried the food, I was disappointed. While the soup was ok, the quesadilla dish was EXTREMELY salty and appeared to have no cheese on it and just tasted bad. I ate just two bites, and couldn't have any more. So I drove back to let them know and ask if they can do a refund or give me a different dish in exchange.
What surprised me even more was, instead of trying to understand the situation and come up with a satisfactory solution, they simply said we don't do refunds. I asked to speak to the manager and the gentleman went and spoke to someone and came back and said the same thing, explaining that if I was sitting inside they could do something but because it was takeout they can't.
Which makes no sense, as almost every restaurant does takeout and the product is the food and if it isn't up to standard you would think they would stand by it!
However what was worse was, when I asked if I can speak to the manager, they said the manager isn't actually there. I talked to a few people and then it looked like they called the manager and came back with the same thing - sorry we can't do anything about it. No refund. No exchange. Sorry. I'm not sure they actually called the manager because again based on the ratings you would think they would have a basic level of customer service.
I don't know about you, but food is expensive these days, and their prices are not cheap. I am not going to waste my money somewhere that doesn't stand by their food after I've already paid them, but would if I hadn't paid them. What kind of...
Read moreThis restaurant is set in a quaint downtown building. The service was good and the food was delicious. Definitely unique choice of food in comparison to your local Tex-mex spot. I eat Mexican food at least once a week all over and Zapata’s menu had many options I’d never heard of.
The menu is small but there are a variety of dishes to suite all tastebuds! I appreciated not being overwhelmed as some menus can be.
As soon as you sit down the chips and salsa are placed in your table. Some of the best salsa I’ve had. It definitely is freshly made and not too spicy. My husband had the crepes de elote and they were quite tasty. So good that I didn’t have time to snap a picture before he was fives bites in.
The picture is three of their tacos: the breaded fish, the marinated pork and the poblano. All served with cilantro, onions and their homemade beans. My first time having a poblano taco and I can’t wait to try them again on my next visit!
Oh and I ordered the chicken soup for an appetizer but the food came out so quickly she forgot the soup. Even though I wasn’t concerned, she came back by with a cup and didn’t charge us. I can appreciate the level of customer service this establishment carries and is why I decided to write this 5-Star review!
Great place people and if you’re in or near Atlanta, this charming restaurant is well...
