La Churreria Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Norcross

This place is just flat out ridiculous. Just the fact that I am forced to give 1 Star is too much as they dont deserve any at all whatsoever!

I called and placed a order for pickup. My order was taken over the phone by an employee by the name of GLENDA. My order consisted of 25 Empanadas & 10 Tequeños de Queso. Since it was a large order I specifically requested that everything be made FRESH I didn't want to be sold anything that was currently at the counter. She asked me how long would it take me to arrive. I told her I would be there in 30 mins, she said ok, then if you are going to give us 30 mins I can have a new batch of everything put in to have fresh for you... I said perfect I will se you in 30 mins.

I arrive to pick up my order, it took me exactly 31mins to arrive. When I get there to pick up My order I notice that she has my order on a side and decides to pack it in bags over to the where she had everything she brings it over all tied up. At this point I notice she is trying to rush me to pay. She didn't expect that while I was there I would ask to add 3 Pan de Bonos, 3 Almojabanas and (3 Buñuelos) which I asked to have warmed up.

As she got the things I was adding to the order I decided to open the bag of the things that were ordered over the phone. To my surprise the box felt cold, weird to me because I specifically asked to have them make my order fresh. I proceeded to open the aluminum tray to check and sure enough... NOTHING was fresh. All the Empanadas were cold, old and stale and even most were burnt looking. They were trying to send me off with all the leftovers of the day that they had not sold. I was very upset, I asked her why they were cold, if I had specifically requested foe everything to be fresh and she states that as long as I gave them the 30 mins she would have it made. She sat there and tried to argue with me that they were fresh just that she had them sitting there.

That was a FLAT OUT LIE... the tray was completely dry no moisture whatsoever of heat... It's frustrating because I actually drove the 30 mins to get there!

They have honestly lost my business... Next Time I will drive an additional 5 mins and go to LAS...

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I never leave reviews but I feel so compelled to do so. It’s tucked away amongst a couple other shops and eateries, but is not hard to find. As soon my friend and I walked in we were greeted with big smiles and welcomes. We came in search for Colombian snacks and treats for our Colombian friend (was their birthday and we wanted to surprise them with a taste of home) and the ladies that helped us were so patient with us, describing the different breads and flavors as well as recommending some Colombian favorites/classics (as we weren’t totally sure what our friend might want). We ended up choosing a variety of different breads: pan de bono (bread that is flat with cheese inside) pan de queso (flat bagel looking bread also with cheese) arepas de queso (corn arepas with full corn pieces stuffed with cheese) roscón de arequipe (sweet bread with sweetened condensed milk inside...so good!) some other breads I can’t remover but I don’t think you can go wrong And two drinks: Maracuyo (passion fruit I think) Mora (berries?? Idk but it’s good!)

Didn’t put a dent on my wallet, breads were delicious, and the service was impeccable. I felt at home. We have plans to come...

As per other reviewers, the food used to be better.. quality has depleted a lot. Firstly, as constructive criticism, invest in a better food warmer or at least put it in the air fryer to re-warm things like Buñuelos to prevent them from getting soggy. Taste was alright. The jugó de Lulo is definitely not real Lulo, it’s not even the store bought pulp, it doesn’t taste like Lulo at all. I tried canceling my order after feeling disappointed at the quality, but received a lot of pushback. Working in service myself, as annoying as it can be, I would never let that show to my costumer, as in the end, they shouldn’t pay for something they did not like. I was being as nice as possible but I felt like they were trying to guilt trip me about asking for my order to be cancelled, regardless if It was already being made or not, I was not going to eat it after seeing the initial quality. In the end I got it resolved, but I will not be returning. La Ruana seems to be the best so far as far as...
