A Reliably Delicious, No-Nonsense Burger Experience When you have a serious, straightforward craving for a fantastic burger and fries, Five Guys in Norfolk is a beacon of hope. It’s a place that scoffs at frills and focuses on one thing: delivering a fresh, high-quality, and incredibly satisfying meal. While it might hit the wallet a bit harder than its fast-food counterparts, the quality and consistency make it a dependable four-star destination. The Five Guys model is simple and brilliant. You choose a burger, and then the world of toppings is your oyster—for free. From grilled mushrooms and onions to jalapeños and A.1. sauce, you can craft a truly personalized masterpiece. The patties themselves are the star: always fresh, never frozen, and cooked to a juicy, greasy perfection that satisfies on a primal level. The standard "little" burger is more than enough for most, while the regular double-patty burger is a glorious, multi-napkin affair. And then there are the fries. Piled high into the cup and then generously dumped into your bag, an order of fries from Five Guys is legendary for a reason. They are fresh-cut from real potatoes (the sacks are right there as proof), perfectly fried, and have a wonderful, natural potato flavor. Opting for the Cajun seasoning is a pro move, adding a zesty kick that cuts through the richness of the burger. The atmosphere is what it is: loud, bustling, and unapologetically focused on the food. You're here to eat, not to linger over fine china. The service is fast and direct, with orders being called out over the sizzle of the grill. The only thing holding it back from a perfect score is the price point, which can be a bit steep for a counter-service meal. However, you can taste where the extra money goes. For a consistently delicious, made-to-order burger and an avalanche of fantastic fries, Five Guys remains one of the best and most reliable...
Read moreI love a good, juicy, meaty burger! So I have been trying different places to feed that craze. I went to five guys in Norfolk with my son to try out their burgers. We got there around eight thirty in the evening and some people were dining inside but most of the people came and picked up the meals they ordered and left.
First when you walk in the door you will notice the clean look of the wall art and positive reviews from the media posted. You also have peanuts in the shell available at the entrance. I have to say the cashier was very friendly and helpful about telling you the quantity of side orders in the containers and size of burgers. To the novice at Five Guys you may over order and not be able to eat all the food due to the substantial difference in amount of food you get.
I ordered the bacon double cheeseburger all the way and my son ordered a cheeseburger with pickles mustard and mayo with seasoned fries and a large drink. We took our receipt with the order number and sat at our booth. In about ten minutes our order was called, the food was piping hot and the fries were very crisp and the quantity was great.
My son dove right into the fries with glee, while I clocked in on my burger. The first bite made my mouth water and the flavors were very satisfying. My son went through his burger like a chainsaw through firewood! The burger was juicy, well seasoned and the toppings were very fresh. The fries are fresh cut and you definitely can tell by the taste as well they were seasoned perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the positive environment to eat it in!...
Read moreWell if you are new to 5 guys then you're in for a treat, the burgers are worth the wait, wrapped in foil and the fries are usually dumped in a cup and all over the inside of the bag and more than enough fries to fill you and someone else's belly... However the unfortunate chain of events leading to my last experience at this location left me feeling unsatisfied... I tried to order delivery using the app wound up being a pick up instead (could've been my error) that's minor. The location isn't that far, nice day, my son and I decided to walk there. Bright and sunny turned into a sun shower with hail. Ok unforeseen weather mix up VA is known for that, a little soaked but who cares we've got 5 guys burgers for dinner. We get there, get in line, the staff is scrambling. The AC is on and I am fighting the ending of a cold that now has additional strength due to our walk. We tell them the delivery order. The shift leader asks one of the employees did they remember the Cajun fries, he didn't. He put them in a side bag. While we wait for my milkshake... Shrinkflation must have gotten sprinkled in with our order because the milkshake was sippy cup size, we walked back home, the sprite was in a bigger cup (medium) than my milkshake. No excess fries in the bag, as a matter of fact they forgot one of the orders of regular fries! I was hot. But I wasn't going back. This experience cost me $60 for two double cheese burgers, should've been two fries one regular one Cajun and two beverages, one sprite one milkshake. I can't say I wasn't...
