This is the third time I have placed a take out order from Franklin's. The first two were tremendous. The first time I ordered the steak and spinach gorgonzola Alfredo. The pasta was cooked perfectly, it tasted amazing and the portions were very generous.
The second time, I ordered two prime rib specials for my daughter and I. The prime rib was deliciously seasoned and they were cooked to perfection. The order was fulfilled quickly. About 25 minutes from the time I called and placed the order until I picked it up.
Last week, I again ordered two prime rib specials. This time, I was beyond disappointed. I was told they were busy, so pick up in about a half hour. When I arrived, I was told it wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes or so. Which is understandable when a restaurant is busy. It ended up being more than 20 minutes before I received my order. Unfortunately the quality of the food was terrible. I ordered medium rare prime rib. What I received was closer to well done. No pink at all and not moist at all. There was very little flavor, except for the edges, which were caked with seasoning. The accompanying salads were inedible. The lettuce was old and slimy, and the croutons were stale and hard. I will give the restaurant one more try. But at $70 for two dinners, it just isn't worth it if the food is as poor quality as it...
Read moreService - our server was prompt. He took our drink order and came back with our drinks. I ordered a manhattan, which was possibly the poorest cocktail I've had. I drank it by the time he came back to take our food order and the empty glass sat there for the entire duration of our visit. I was not asked if I wanted another drink. Food - we both ordered a pasta dish with alfredo sauce. My chicken parm was average, the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. The pasta was done well. Portions were avarage to small. Overall - we walked in about 8:00 as most people were finishing. By 8:30 the entire restaurant was empty. On a Saturday night. That told me about all I needed to know. If you are only turning one table at night, there is something to be said for that. With better choices in Norfolk, I don't see a...
Read moreMy husband and I have lived in Norfolk, NE for about 7 1/2 yrs. Never been there before but heard good things about the Restaurant. Decided to go there for the first time on Valentines Day. It was a little busy but was expecting that. My husband and I were seated about 5:15 pm, about 5:30 I had to ask the bartender if we had a server cuz been waiting 15 min just to get order taken. We ordered an appetizer and prime rib dinner. About 25 min later we finally got our appetizer, which was luke warm, then our salad 2 min later. We got our prime rib dinner not long after that, which was cold. Was not pleased with our service. We didn't complain but we didn't leave a tip either. We will give this place one more chance. If this happens again, we...
