Place used to be awesome but has gone down hill. Waited over 20min for a service and finally had to go inside to place the order (having a toddler with you places you on a timeline for nap for them, so we couldn’t keep waiting for the waiter to eventually come around). They then proceeded to put the order in to go boxes while dining in. Finally had to ask please do not bring the chicken Marsala out in a box. Pizza in the box was no problem and still great. The chicken Marsala on the other hand is completely trash and we’re not even sure what they put on it. Some guy that worked there was super chill and came out and agreed on the situation, as well he was not sure what the dish even was. Anyways food was disgusting besides the pizza. No one there could give us a refund for the Marsala dishes (or whatever it was) because do to lack of training on the cash register. They took our number and supposedly will call but who knows. Now paying for a second lunch from a different restaurant and on go now because of having a toddler ready for nap time. Picture attached of what they called chicken Marsala. Will update if they make it right.

I saw the reviews and took my husband there because we're really searching for a pizza place like in Brooklyn, NY (where I'm from). BUT sadly it was not great. If you're hungry for pizza and you're near there, sure give it a try. We sat down, our order was taken and 13 minutes later we were still waiting for 4 slices of pizza. No one checked on us or nothing. The waitress didn't know what happened and the cook was sitting in a booth resting. And mind you there was only one other table there and they were eating. My husband got up to find out what was going on and they found our slices just sitting up on the counter dying. We were hungry at this point so we ate it. Obviously the pizza was not as good or cheesy as a result. I won't be back. Bad customer service!

After having a bad night, I first stopped in to see if they had Affogato. They do not, but what they do have is amazing pizza and customer service. All of the guys working were incredibly nice, attentive, and fast. I even asked to change my order to “take out” half way thru. Where most places would roll their eyes at this request, Pizza on Granby boxed up the pizza and brought it out to the table. Finding customer service like this is rare and I did not receive this quality or service at any other restaurant I visited on Granby. The PIZZA is made fresh and you can taste the pride in the ingredients. Perfect crust, garlic sauce, and toppings. This place turned my night around

I debated for a while if I would leave a review and I finally decided I would when I was asked about what occurred at work AGAIN this week. Back in August myself and a co-worker ordered food. Her order was correct and mine was too besides they forgot the dressing for my salad. No biggie. I called and spoke with a young lady and asked if I could come pick it up. She advised that would be the best choice because although it was forgotten with my order, there were other orders and I wouldn't get my dressing for a while. I said ok. Needless to say, I never ended up going up there because my lunch break was about over and I saved the salad for later. This transpired on a Friday. Fast forward to the following Monday. I received a call from the receptionist on the 1st floor saying someone was there to see me. No one ever rings for me at work so initially I was caught off guard. I proceeded downstairs and it was the delivery guy from the restaurant. He began to question me and accused me of lying. He stated I called into the restaurant and told them I didn't receive my food and why would I do that. At first I was taken a back but quickly became offended. Not only did you come to my place of employment, but you called me a thief in front of my coworkers. (So much so that after I ended the inquiry, the ladies on the 2nd floor heard how he was speaking to me and asked if I was ok.) I swiftly told him he was out of line and how dare he. I told him what I actually said and that I had witnesses. I also had witnesses as to how he conducted himself that day. I was offended and embarrassed beyond belief. I then called the restaurant over the next 2 weeks but was told the manager was unavailable every time I called. I left my information and never received a call back. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received from an establishment. I paid to be disrespected, offended and embarrassed. I hope in the future that delivery driver has better tact. In the end after I corrected him, he said "oh well I only came to say hi". I told him he was out of line and the funny thing was he never said hi from the beginning. He said "ohhhh it's you" when I descended the steps. He was looking down his nose at me and was overall unkempt and rude. It was the older gentleman with the wirey grey hair. They lost a whole building of customers because of his disrespectfulness and approach to the situation. As disgusted as I was with him, I was more disgusted by the lack of communication from management. To this day, I have not heard from management to address what he did. To call me a thief at my place of employment and proceed to question me rather than call me and tactfully ask what happened. Granby St Pizza needs...

Granby Street Pizza: A Dependable Slice of Downtown Norfolk Granby Street Pizza, located in the heart of downtown Norfolk, is a consistent and satisfying spot for a casual meal, especially when a craving for a good slice (or a whole pie) strikes. It's not trying to be a gourmet pizzeria, and that's perfectly fine; it delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizza joint, earning a solid four stars from me. The pizza itself is reliably good. They offer a classic New York-style crust that's thin enough to fold, with a nice chew and a decent crispness on the bottom. The sauce has a pleasant tang, and they're generous with the cheese without being overly greasy. I'm a fan of their plain cheese slice – a true test of any pizza place – and it always passes with flying colors. Their specialty pizzas are also quite popular, offering a variety of topping combinations for those looking for something more adventurous. Beyond pizza, their subs and other Italian-American staples are also well-executed and satisfying. The location is a major plus, right on Granby Street, making it incredibly convenient for downtown residents, office workers, and anyone catching a show or event nearby. It's an ideal spot for a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, with a classic pizzeria vibe. It's the kind of place where you can relax, grab a booth, and enjoy your food without fuss. Service is typically quick and efficient, whether you're dining in or picking up an order. The staff is generally friendly and focused on getting your food out promptly, which is appreciated, especially during busy periods. Why not five stars? While the pizza is good, it occasionally lacks that truly extraordinary something that pushes it into the top tier of pizza experiences. It's consistently good, but perhaps not a "destination" pizza unless you're already in the immediate vicinity. Also, the interior, while functional, could use a bit of a refresh to elevate the overall dining ambiance slightly. Despite these minor points, Granby Street Pizza remains a fantastic and reliable option for a satisfying meal in downtown Norfolk. It's a no-brainer when you're in the mood for classic, well-made pizza in a convenient and casual setting. A solid four-star...

Been coming here since moving to VA from NY in 2017 because it is one of the few places around here that actually taste like NY pizza when it is good but the food and service are very inconsistent. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's awful. Stromboli and calzones frequently have raw dough in the middle and lack filling. Once ordered a pepperoni Stromboli and came home to find out they made me a Stromboli with pineapple in it instead. Saw a review claiming the owners rude attitude and bad customer serice can be attributed to the "up north attitude that comes with the place" that's just insulting to me as a native new yorker. Picked up a take out order today. Saw two boxes sitting there when i walked in, the waitress walked by telling me she was going to find the woman who was supposed to be at the counter handling the take out orders. Five minutes later the same waitress came back, telling me she couldn't find the other woman so she would help me. She went to pick up the two boxes i had seen when i walked in and realized part of my order was missing. She told me it would be another 5 minute wait for the missing mozzarella sticks because they were never cooked. I said by the time you cook them the rest of my food will be cold. The owner stepped in at this point, laughed at me and said "no it won't it stays hot for 30 minutes it only takes two minutes to make mozzarella sticks" even by his own time line the food would have been sitting for at least 10 minutes that i know of (who knows how long it was sitting there before i walked in) and i still need to drive home so not sure how he thought that was an appropriate response instead of just giving me my money back for the appetizer that was not made yet. He then proceeded to rush the cooks making the mozzarella sticks to get me out the door. I arrived home with barely warm food and barely cooked chewy unenjoyable mozzarella sticks. It's not a new yorker attitude to laugh at a customer and tell them they're wrong. It's just poor...
