Disappointed. In short: The service was poor. The beer was warm and flat. We got the wrong items. The food grossed me out. Milk was sour.
Traveling from out of town and stopped in for lunch at around 1:30pm. The bar was slammed but the restaurant was not very busy. Short wait for the table due to low staff. Decided to get a drink from the bar but the bartender was too busy to get to me before we were seated which was about 10 minutes. Several waiters complained I was in the way and said I needed to get the bartenders attention if I wanted a drink.
I asked for a local IPA at the table but our waitress didnt know the draft list and stuck a beer menu in my face instead and disappeared for 10 minutes. I asked about their rotating seasonal drafts and she told me they didnt have any because they were sold out of the cans. I asked why the seasonal DRAFTS were in cans and then she said they did have a blonde and a stout as seasonal drafts. I ordered the blonde, but it came out warm and flat. Even the glass was room temperature, which i assumed was because it had just come out of the washer, but soon realized it was because the beer was also room temperature. My girlfriend tried it and said it tasted disgusting, and I agreed.
My girlfriend thought she ordered one of the flights they were advertising on the wall, but the waitress brought over a large single drink instead. I paid $7 for the beer and $10 for the drink but we decided we didnt want to cause a fuss because we were starving and wanted to hit the road asap.
My girlfriend and my kid ordered eggs and bacon, and they said the food was fine and that they enjoyed it. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The bun was delicious, but the chicken tasted a bit strange, even with hot sauce and blue cheese on it. The fries were very good and crispy, but i asked for some blue cheese to dip the fries in, and it had a very odd goopy consistency (like glue) that made me feel grossed out, so I didnt finish my meal.
I paid over $60 for 2 adults and 1 kid, which I thought was very expensive.
Some of our friends had stopped by earlier in the day, so I asked them about their experience. They said everything was fine except their kid was given sour milk to...
Read moreWell this was a hard one for The Hood. It started out ok they didn’t seem that busy but we were told 20 minutes. After we were seated it took a while for anyone to come around actually gave us enough time to order our drinks and what we wanted to eat. So let’s start off with atmosphere- nice some outside seats on the street inside nice and well that’s it for that. Food - not bad The Hood had a sweet chili chicken sandwich with some fries tasty it was. My peeps had other dishes and all said it was good. Buffalo chicken sandwich and steak and eggs for the peeps overall good stuff. Well now let me get to service - I will start off to say our waitress was good seemed very busy but did check on us and had a good attitude. Now here is where it gets juicy so one of my peeps didn’t get their food with ours and they order a specialty drink also none of it came out. Couldn’t find our waitress so we got the hostess and mentioned it and she stood there with a blank stare and then another waitress came up and said that we were waiting on the steak, must have had to go to farm to get it and then proceeded to tell us that the bar was backed up with drink orders for our drink. Well that apparently was not the case our original waitress came around the corner and apologized for forgetting to put the drink in and meal…. Oh O!!! So my peep thanked her for her honesty but told her she should tell the other waitress not to lie to paying customers. The Hood says be honest… well there you go food and drink finally arrived after everyone else was served for a while. So I say to hair of the dog tell your waitresses to be honest most people will understand. I said most people. Go if you like but the Hood will stay away for awhile. Be kind with each other! The Hood is off again for another food adventure!! Remember follow the Hood for great adventures! And no that wasn’t the drinks in the picture that...
Read moreCame in Monday night 1/14/2020 at around 5:30 pm and stood at the entrance and saw no one so I then made my way to the bar and saw two employees talking. As I walked up no one greeted me. It wasn't until I pulled out a chair and moved towards the bar did the bartender approach and asked if she could help me. I asked if I could place a to go order and she said yes and handed me a menu. She then said the hostess could take care of me at the hostess stand because that is her job, laughing. I guess she thought it was funny. She then said I could sit at the bar if I wanted to have a drink I said I will just place the food order. So now after walking in and waiting at the hostess stand then making my way to the bar I'm being sent back to the hostess stand to place an order. At this point I'm a little annoyed because I shouldn't have to walk all over the restaurant to place an order. So I go back to the hostess stand only to wait another 5 min for the hostess to come up. I would have thought the two emp at the bar would have at least called the hostess over but no, they went back to talking and laughing as I could here them from the entrance. Finally when the hostess came up she just stared off into space. Im assuming waiting for me to approach or say something to her. So I walked the 4ft I was standing back from the stand and approach her and she finally said hello. I asked if there was a manager on duty and she said just the bartender who sent me back to the stand. At this point it was clear no one really wanted to help me so I politely gave her back the menu and said I changed my mind about eating here. I went to another establishment down the street where I was promptly greeted and taking care of right away. I was really looking forward to trying the buffalo waffle cone appetizer and having some pancakes, but I am not going to do business where they clearly do not want to take care of...
