Excellent food, when/if you get it. I have been twice. Once during the "soft opening" and once during the "grand opening" day. During the "soft opening" the portions were larger (see picture below of popcorn chicken appetizer) and things came out when they were ready, which is code for "we don't plan the cooking times very well."

During the grand opening, they had a single waitress for the entire room, and while we waited for our food (for an hour) we saw numerous people come, wait an extended period, then leave. We also saw a number of people get up from their tables to complain about wait times, or to go pay at the bar when they grew impatient for their tab to arrive.

I got the half-and-half chicken strip lunch special both times. The first time it was amazingly crispy, well-seasoned, and came with a hearty helping of french fries. This is absolutely a full-stomach meal at a good price.

The second time I got it, it arrived ten minutes after the other two with me got their bimbimbap (one seafood, one chicken), and when my strips arrived, they and the fries were cold from having sat an extended period. The fries were still a generous portion, though. I was just sad to see about half of the popcorn chicken on our appetizer plate (attached picture was during "soft open.")

One of the people with me with the seafood bimbimbap was very impressed, and really enjoyed the crust at the bottom of the dolsot. The one with the chicken bimbimbap was disappointed that the chef forgot to add egg, and there was no crust. Also, the seasoning was very bland for the most part, and relied on very heavily spiced chicken sauce for flavor. Both said the kochujang sauce was lacking flavor, and was more of a pure red pepper sauce. But there was no way any of us were waiting for the chefs to re-make the chicken bimbimbap with egg. We would have had to call out of work for the afternoon (coworkers already remarked at how long we were gone).

So long as they manage their staffing better, and get better about serving appetizers before meals, and perhaps learn more about starting prep for meals at a time that allows food for a table to serve together, this will be an excellent addition to the Granby food options. For now, though, I think I'll only be ordering "to go," and well in...

Food is always delicious! However customer service and restaurant cleanliness has gone way down my past dining visits. Sat down at my table and my seat had water and ice cubes as if table seating had not been cleaned recently after prior customer. I ended up sitting in the liquid and made my bottom soaked. Had to sit on a rag and paper towels during meal. Bathrooms are filthy. From one toliet not properly working, holes in the wall, and evident dirt and grime. Needless to say, it is not up to proper restaurant standards for customers. Once we received our food, I noticed we were given the wrong sides for our meal. The sides we were given were stacked on top of each other. So the bottom of one bowl was touching the food in the other bowl. Even if that was what we ordered I wouldn’t have wanted to eat it. Our server did bring us our correct ordered sides of cole slaw but they were served in to-go containers and appeared wet on lid with cole slaw on the outside. To top off this dining experience, I noticed my boyfriend’s beer glass had a lipstick marking. Unfortunately we noticed after he drank all the beer. I was able to wipe some of the lipstick off which indicated that it was from a recent prior customer (YUCK). We made our server aware and he apologized and did not charge us for the beverage. However we were highly disturbed with our time there and will not be returning to this location. It is very clear that the current staff there does not care about ensuring a quality product and high standards of customer service. Thankfully there is a second location in Hampton roads (Virginia Beach) that we will have to try next time and hope we have a...

My husband and I were excited to give this place a try on Friday night. To start this place is small but cute. We were told it would be 20 minutes before we could be seated. No problem. We actually didn't wait that long.

Once we were seated our server came over right away with water and introduced herself (Kelly) and asked if we wanted anything else to drink besides water. Kelly returned with my husband drink and took our order. We ordered the salmon avocado ball as a starter, and for our main meal we ordered the spicy 20 piece wing with seasoned fries.

Our fries came out first, Which we thought was weird. However, They were pretty good. We completely finished our fries, then 20 minutes later we received our wings. We asked Kelly the status on our appetizer and she said it would be 5-7 minutes due the kitchen being backed up.

After maybe 15 minutes we asked to speak to a manager because we thought it was weird that we recieved our side dish first followed by our main dish and still haven't recieved our appetizer. Kelly said she forgot to mention that the way the kitchen works is they push the food out as its ready. Ok... That's fine, but why wasn't our appetizer done before everything else? Kelly went to talk to the manager and told us the appetizer would be comped. Eventually we received the appetizer, I thought it was pretty good but my husband wasn't impressed.

Overall the unorganized service put a damper on our whole first experience. The chicken was decent but we wont be in a...

Had a horrible experience here today. First time going to this location and ordered curbside since it's in the city with hard-to-find parking. There was no designated curbside spot so when I finally found street meter parking, I thought, I'll just run in quick and grab it even though I paid a tip for curbside. Well I go in and they have no order for me even though I had confirmation and had already paid. No sense of urgency whatsoever. Meanwhile I had to go back out to the car to feed the meter since it was obviously going to be awhile. So now I've not only paid a tip for service I did not get, I've now also had to pay the meter and not even an apology from the manager or an attempt to make it right by me, the customer. Now as for the food that I eventually got. I ordered the zucchini fries. Well I don't know if Bonchon doesn't know the difference between yellow squash and zucchini but these were definitely yellow squash and we're so greasy, that the grease saturated paper bag ripped as I took them out of the plastic bag and they fell all over the floor rendering them inedible and a complete waste. I'm providing some pics of them after I picked them up off the floor. My suggestion to Bonchon would be to first use actual zucchini in your zucchini fries and second, serve them in something a little sturdier in the future. I can't believe I actually spent $40 on this mess. Never again!!

This location is located in Downtown Norfolk across from TCC College. It's on the corner and it has two stories. The upstairs is mainly for large parties. The downstairs is for four or fewer parties, pickups, and the bar. I have been wanting to try Korean fried chicken, and it did not disappoint. It's best to come with a party because the food is very pricey. You get to choose from small, medium, or large. The higher you go, the more the cost. Since it was our first time there, we were warned that they do not season their chicken. The flavor comes from the sauce in which they put on their chicken. The choices are Soy Garlic or Spicy, and you can get it mixed. It may come with pickle radish or coleslaw. I just so happened to try both. The pickle radish was very hard and crunchy. The coleslaw wasn't as flavorful but decent. We had mixed wings, and I must say I liked them both! They were juicy, crunchy, and bursting with flavor. We also had a side order of fries and white rice. My daughter had plain wings and rice. We also tried the Korean BBQ chicken wings and it was not hitting. We did end up taking wings home as well. I will definitely recommend this place, and I will be back again. They also have another location in Virginia Beach if you do not wish to travel to Norfolk.
