Butter Twice & Again — Local services in Normal

as a vintage lover with years of experience in the actual business of second hand fashion, i wanted to love a place like this. just moving from big cities i really wanted to find good places to thrift & grow my collection. however, after going, i’m so disappointed. the clothes can be cute, but don’t service any sizes over medium. not tall or plus size friendly at all. overpriced watches that don’t work that go for dollars on ebay, tarnished jewelry, overpriced coach purses with peeling leather & a bit of dry rot, + overpriced polyester plastic rather than actual vintage. no shoes over a size 7 by the way with dry rot as well. some of the store is vintage, but it only works if you are petite & skinny. i was also appalled to find target & forever 21 brands in terrible condition priced three times higher in price. i looked both up & they go for less than 7$. not sure who decides prices but they need a proper system in place.

the girl working at the counter was polite & friendly, so i’ll give a star for that. customer service in a small shop is hard to come by, & she answered my questions very happily. however, i don’t recommend this place for anyone over a medium, slightly taller/bigger, or anyone with decent taste in clothing. i’m surprised a business like this has been able to stay open for so long, but it’s a small town i guess. i hope for the future they focus less on aesthetic & what a small town like this...

Love love love this place! I buy the majority of my clothes from here. Knowing that I'm shopping sustainably makes me feel great. Yvonne and her staff are all so sweet, helpful, and patient as I shopped around. Happy to give their opinions and more options that might look good on me. The staff had me try on things that I never thought would work on me and I ended up living and buying. Going to butter makes shopping such a fun experience! Worst customer service ever. The owner of thos shop is beyond rude and unprofessional. Came in to shop and did not even acknowledge me or ask if I needed anything. Completely brushed me off when I asked a question about a dress, acted annoyed with simply having to answer a question. Clothes were overpriced and not worth the price.
