Classic 50's Drive-In — Restaurant in Norman

This is a pretty cool place. Similar to other drive in establishments. They appeared to be very busy this evening, with only 1 "car hop" for the 12 cars present. The burger was tasty and tator tots were crisp. The "potato boats" were a little bland. The Pickle O's were fried pickles and they were amazing!

The largest disappointment of our visit was, we did not receive utensils for the potato boats (baked potato style item), missing a topping on 1 of them and the bacon was not added to the burger. After informing the employee at the speaker of those items, it was about 6 minutes before we got our missing item for the potato boat. No utensils or bacon. I asked the car hop about the other items and she wasn't aware of them. After all of our food items were consumed, the car hop informed us the cook is making our bacon and it will be out in 2 minutes.

There appeared to be only 3 employees inside handling orders as well, so I was under the impression that they were short staffed. Although the service was friendly, the speed was not there...again, could be due to lack of personnel. I will give them...

IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN BEWARE. Ordered a few combos and a coney. They use toothpicks to fix their packaging, but we encountered a toothpick INSIDE of the chili on the coney. It was not visible and Stabbed the roof of my friends mouth. Absolutely no reason for a toothpick hidden away inside of the food itself. This is a major food hazard. Went to complain to the staff and no manager on duty. Absolutely awful managing. For the sake of unsuspecting guests and especially children this should be addressed or I see a large lawsuit happening.

I was told this order was $38 and some change, but my bank account shows $43 so it appears they tipped themselves as well.

Ordered a banana slush and it was not drinkable. It tasted like rotten water. The burger combos were small and pretty basic. The price of 5dollars for Chicago style Viennese hot dog would have been ok if that's what we got but instead We got a uncooked cold cheap bologna tasting dog on a cold dry bun with old soft tomatoes . One person in my group said I'm not eating this and brought it right back in to the girl that delivered it to our car. She admitted it was not Vienna and said she would refund our money. Myself and the 3rd party we ate our dogs drove 30 minutes and we were hungry. So rude Telling other customers some crazy gossip about us because a truck drove around us and called us mother fer"s. Threatening us. I'm 74 years old and the others in my party are older responsible adults just wanting what was advertised. Horrible onion rings with the breading falling off.
