So I went to Subway when they had that "buy one, get one free" deal going on for their anniversary. I waited in line for over an hour. Cars were wrapped around and the place was full. Once I get right up to the speaker and it was my turn the manager came out. His name was Markus (not sure on spelling). He told us that they were having problems keeping up, they were out of a bunch of things and if we would be nice enough to come back he'd write his information on a piece of paper and we could come back any time and cash in on the deal. Even though I'd waited in line almost an hour I wasn't upset, I just took it and left. I like to be a good dude, Markus seemed nice, it was just sandwiches, no big deal, right?
I came back today to cash it in. We ordered our sandwiches and I showed the two guys working there the piece of paper and told them the situation. I even gave them the phone number. I guess they called Markus or somebody, got told not to give us the sandwiches, basically told us that we were lying and to leave the store, like we were trying to get free sandwiches. After I had spent an hour once, made an extra trip and wasted another 15 minutes or so, not a single free sandwich was mine. The obvious ex-con they had behind the counter was INTENSELY rude and made it very clear before we ever even spoke to him that he was pissed he had to be there. I have never in my life been treated this poorly by a big company, most of them at least care a minimal amount about their reputation, but I guess at this Subway it is fine to call your customers liars and kick them out over the cost of a 5 dollar sandwich. Better to save that five bucks and call your customer a liar. Never mind that we live a block away from this Subway and USED to eat there about 3 times a week, for the last several years and have probably to date spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars there as I have five kids and you can get semi-healthy food there and not have to cook. It's really slow, but that's okay, it is usually empty. No more though. There is a Quizno's and a Firehouse Sub right across the street.
I left the store and I called the number on the piece of paper and talked to Markus. He told me he remembered us after speaking to me. Apparently his employee didn't even understand what I had told him and explained it to Markus like I was scribbling on paper trying to get a free sandwich. I told him what happened, and yeah I was a little heated about it, I deserve to be, they wasted TONS of my time, embarrassed me because other customers were present, and threw me out. Markus apologized. Then hung up without another word. Unbelievable. I feel like Subway owes me the 40 dollars of Sandwiches I was going to buy on those two trips + a salary for the hour and a half of my time they wasted.
If Subway knew what was good for them they'd shut this place down. I know if I owned a large corporation like this I wouldn't want to have a franchise like this making my business look bad. It was...
Read moreThis Subway has IMPRESSIVELY bad customer service. I have eaten at this location frequently because it is close to my work and they have a drive thru, but I can say without a doubt after today that I will never eat there again. Due to the convenience factor, I have given it far more chances than I should have...in the past three months noticed the deterioration of this franchise at the hands of their employees. About a month ago, I went in to get a sandwich and iced tea, and they informed me that they could not serve iced tea because they found out that no one has been cleaning the machine. The employee "graciously" did not charge me the cup fee for a water...yippee. Another time, I went through the drive thru to grab a breakfast sandwich before work, and I waited for ten minutes and no one helped me, so finally I called the store to inform them that I was there. This resulted in the employee complaining to me about how bad their intercom system is and how it isn't the fault of the workers - no apology, I then waited an additional fifteen minutes for them to actually make my sandwich because they were so "busy" in the store. I could see into the store and I was the only customer. Again, no apology. So, after these two bad encounters I have eaten there a few more times (it is seriously the only restaurant near my work that serves anything that even resembles a vegetable), and every time I have experienced a long wait time and rude customer service. Today was the final straw though. I went through the drive thru and waited behind two vehicles. I ended up waiting for eighteen minutes (I couldn't leave at this point as there was a car behind me) and no one acknowledged me or took my order, though I was pulled up to the speaker. FINALLY after the car in front of me left, some guy stuck his hand out of the window and waved to pull forward. No apology for the eighteen minute wait...he just asked me what I want in a very annoyed tone. So, I tell him what kind of sandwich I want, and he then asks me again three more times what kind of sandwich I want - each time with increasing brashness. I keep repeating myself but somehow he just isn't getting it. He then goes off to make my sandwich and I wait another eight minutes for the thing to be ready. At this point, I have not saved any time and am feeling really frustrated. When the guy came back, he had nasty food bits stuck in his beard. Needless to say, I didn't eat the sandwich and I will never be returning to this Subway. This place is...
Read moreI stopped by after work, about 10:35 PM. I went through the drive through, the touch screen seemed real cool, I liked that set up. One thing I would add is a 2x toasted as I didn't see that as an option. I ordered 2 things only one needed to be double toasted. I pulled forward to the window hoping some one would meet me there. I needed to let them know to double toast the spicy Italian. About two minutes went by so I Googled the number to that subway, called them and was greeted by a message and told to hit # 2, did so and it rang and rang. I saw movement in the store so I knocked gently on the pay window and saw the person acknowledge my knock then continue to do their thing after a minute I knocked harder. The girl then came to me and I asked if she started the spicy Italian she said "yeah" I then asked if she could still double toast it and she said "yes" then she went back to work on my order. I waited another 5-6 minutes and she came back with my food and told me my total after selecting some stuff on the back register. I handed her my card and she walked away and was gone (maybe to the front register?) When she came back she handed me the bag with my order in it. No receipt! At that point I was thinking... Okay..... I drove home and I gave my fiance her order and opened mine. My sub was kinda cold and definitely didn't look double toasted, barely any veggies except for jalapeno which I hit light, and barely any dressing even though I hit mayo and creamy Italian. Overall I'm very disappointed. What happened to you guys? Not sure I'm ever going to spent my money on bad product...
