Arlington Diner — Restaurant in North Arlington

Grew up going to this diner my entire life. I would give them zero stars if I could. Always had bad experiences and have many stories I could tell about this place, but this tops the cake today. My mom and I ordered some burgers for ourselves and our family for pickup (since that is the only decent thing on the menu that they make consistently that is edible). We got there and were told to sit as our order wasn’t finished. 5 minutes later, a server comes out and starts freaking out as our order was given to a lady who just paid, was handed a bag, and walked out despite the server giving her order to this woman at the table she was waiting at (her food was still sitting there on the table). The two old men scrambled to call the other woman who took our order so she could come back and “get her food”. My mom and I know their game, they were going to take our order from this woman and give it to us as if they had made it fresh. They assured us though that they had already started remaking our order when my mom went up to cancel and leave. But I am appalled because they did just what we expected them to do. Took the bag from the lady and while I watched them like hawks from where we were sitting (and even loudly said that if they handed that bag to us, we were going to walk out) they again scrambled and brought the bag to the back. A minute later, they come right back out with our “new” and “fresh-made” food. Yeah ok. The “new” food is absolutely the same food they gave to this other woman. We paid and still took the food, but no one even has an appetite anymore because we know. Despite all their “reassurance” that this food was made fresh, we know that it’s not and it’s real sneaky that they took that bag to the back. I wish I told them that I wouldn’t take any bag until I saw the “‘new” food get packaged in front of me and my mom. No amount of cheesecake or pudding or any dessert is going to fix the fact that these cheap old men won’t actually fix THEIR MISTAKE. Instead they are willing to give people food that they already gave to someone else and risk a lot of health violations in the process. Do whatever you will with that information, but if I were you, I would not risk eating here or ordering from here. Who knows whose food you might be getting? Worse than that, who knows what those people may have done to your food before you even got it? Hope they enjoy their $40. It’s the last $40 they will be...

The server, I think her name is Lois or Luann, was great. She was very pleasant and check on me frequently. I tried placing an order on what I thought was their website. When I went to pick it up the person, I believe was the owner, said with a little bit of attitude there was no order placed, asked what I ordered and asked if I used Grubhub. I told him no I used your website to order and pay. He stated, again with attitude, that we don't have a website that you can order and pay through. I pulled it up and showed him. He said, with the attitude, oh that's not ours. That someone set up a fake website. They already notified the police because I was the fifth person it happened to. Lois said to the owner that maybe you should post it on the diner Facebook page to let people know. I went outside to call my bank to report it and cancel my card and he came out and kept asking me questions. When I finished with the bank, I went back in to tell them that the bank took care of it and I had to cancel my card. The owner said he had my order ready if I had money and wanted it, still the attitude. I said yes, now I'm starting to get aggravated. He went into the kitchen, comes out with an order and says here. I look at the order and tell him that it's not mine. He says, you're not so n so. The order he bought out wasn't even close to what I told him. I said no, that's not me, with a little attitude. He asks do you want me to put the order in again. I said how about I sit outside and you have someone coming out and take it. Lois came out to take my order and kept apologizing. I thanked her, said it wasn't necessary for her to and gave her my order. If I wasn't so hungry and tired I wouldn't have stayed. I wasn't aggravated because of the fake website. They have no control over some a-hole doing something like that. It was the owner's attitude. If it wasn't for Lois, I would give one star because of the owner. This was my favorite place up until last night. I went for a little early birthday dinner for myself and the waitress was super WEIRD. Honestly it felt like she had something against me after she brought my drink, I had asked for TWO perfect patrons , and she brought me just one, which was fine,I just kindly told her “hey sorry, but I asked for two”, This lady bend down so close to my face and said “oh … you said two. Oh. So you want another one. Okay” like it was super weird and creepy being so close to my face she made me feel small,her name was SHERRY . I swore she was mental. She then went to get the other drink and brought me back purposely a very very DIRTY DUSTY CUP , as if she pulled it from the back of the bar, because the first cup she brought me was super clean, and now this one is dirty(as seen in the picture: all around the cup and rim just pure dust lints)?. So I ordered for me and my guest , and a couple of mins she comes back and ask about my order how I was going to like it, so o bviously she knows who ordered what. So then our food came , she placed our plates backwards and as she was placing them purposely backwards she states “be careful where you grab them they’re very hot the plates” …. So my guest started switching our plates and she stood there looking at us stuck and said “oh… they were opposite,” and stood there looking at us all weird …. Like she really looked like she was off something …. Just the fact that the cups was purposely dirty made me question if I should eat my food or not , had me thinking she did something to it …. She completely ruined my night and everyone there is just very weird like they sniffing something or poppin pills . Nothing there is sanitary, all silverware are dirty ‘ the tables are dirty the jukebox are dirty ‘ you can just tell they’re losing their touch on the restaurant…. It was just a very...
