First time trying Town Center Tavern. It was a Thursday around 1:30 pm and the restaurant was nearly full, which is usually an indicator a restaurant is good. Well, this place didn't disappoint!! I was greeted and seated promptly. The waitress was very nice and knew the menu well. My son and I ordered the fried rib appetizer and then we ordered and shared the two meat bbq plate. They even separated it onto two different plates which was great. Most places I've been to just bring you one plate so you can seperate it yourself. It was nice they did it for us!!
I didn't get a picture but their fried rib appetizer was delicious (4 ribs for $10).
The two meat bbq plate ($19) was delicious! We got pulled pork and sausage. The sausage was my son's choice as I'm not usually a fan of it. The sausage was delicious!! Not your typical bbq sausage from around here, more like Polish kielbasa. I could have eaten five servings it was so good!!
The pulled pork was delicious also. It was tender and juicy and also had a great smokey flavor. I would get it again and again.
Let's move to the bbq sauce. Why aren't these guys bottling and selling this stuff?! It is perfect!! Not too sweet, not too vinegary, not too spicy, also not too tomatoey. It was almost the best part of the meal.
The fries, unfortunately not my favorite part of the meal. I wish the menu had mentioned they were seasoned. They were tasty but a little over-seasoned for my liking. So be forewarned, you may want to ask them to go light on the seasoning. They were hand cut and otherwise perfect - not too greasy or soggy!!
The salad was a salad. Neither good nor bad. I did enjoy it. It wasn't all romaine or iceberg. It did have a nice texture and bite with the variety of lettuces in the salad.
I will definitely return. You should go too if...
Read moreBack a second day in a row! Not sure where yesterdays went so adding both here. Yesterday we had the fried ribs and crispy brussels w feta. Both were some of the best Ive had!! He added a black and bleu burger sans bun with no issues. I sipped a beautiful butterfly pea flower drink called Moonlit Garden that jumps up from your childhood and taste exactly like Tart-n-Tinies candy!! Beautiful and delicious. We met the assistant manager Johnny and had a casual conversation before he checked on other customers. Today we came back for the fried ribs encore w the VooDoo Shrimp that were perfectly cooked with just enough bite to make you want another and another but missing that overwhelming vinegar shock you get at most places. Perfection on a bed of romaine. He decided on the hot wings w bleu cheese celery carrot and fresh chips. Those ribs by the way have smoke hit you right up front then it leaves you going looking for more. ...not sitting in the smoke pit like most do. Their secret lil kick in the bbq sauce is an amazing horseradish and takes a bite or two before you settle into the richness of bbq'd meat and the bite of savory heat an sweet sauce. Again- delicious. The chicken wings are well done and the bleu cheese has chunks of pure bliss in the dressing. The Kraut dogs are 2 all beef with IN HOUSE kraut !!! Brown mustard and toasted buns and fresh chopped onion. We were getting full but weren't leaving one bite left. It topped off today very well. And the freshness and crispness of the slaw (instead of fries) was teasing the palate. Not the typical slaw bbq or shrimp youd expect. It will keep you coming back. We're already planning to come back next week and try more items from the menu. Best kept...
Read moreI’ve now given this new local spot three chances, and unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing — particularly when it comes to timeliness and organization. During my most recent visit, we arrived at 7:10 PM. It took nearly two hours before my food — a hotdog, no less — even made it to the table. Drinks were spaced out by nearly 20 minutes each, making the entire evening feel like an exercise in patience.
The server was wonderful, attentive, kind, and clearly doing her best under the circumstances. But the issues appear to be managerial. The manager seemed more preoccupied with seating new tables than ensuring the restaurant was functioning properly. To make matters worse, after waiting nearly two hours without receiving our meals, he came out simply to let us know the restaurant was closing soon. No apology, no acknowledgment of the delay, just a reminder that time was up.
To their credit, they did comp my meal, but honestly, that only highlights how unacceptable the wait time really was. I truly want to support local businesses, and there’s potential here if leadership can prioritize service and kitchen efficiency. But after three consistently poor experiences, it’s hard to recommend this place right now. I sincerely hope they can turn things around l, the staff deserves better, and so...
