I was unsure exactly where this park was. I'm not in this part of town much so I had no idea it was a straight shot down Washington Rd. I thought it was somewhere near Grovetown. It was fairly easy to get to. I didn't actually get to check out much of the park just the pavilion and parking lot. I'm assuming this parking lot is for when they have events inside the park and at the pavilion. There were a few things that did bother me about the park itself. This park is really huge though and should have a better parking lot. The parking lot was one issue. If this was the parking lot to hold all the guests visiting the park why wouldn't it be paved. It was covered in that ol' Georgia Red clay!!!! Hard to get out of clothing and anything it touches. It rained at the event I attended so it turned into mud getting all over my feet and inside of my car. People where getting stuck in the mud and the park attendants were helping people get their cars out of it. I also hate that at the event you weren't allowed to bring in outside food and coolers. I had to trash a $3 lemonade I had just bought! I was highly upset because it was extremely hot out that day. I did see a playground for children and a restroom but many people were complaining how hot it was in the restroom. I thought it was great that the park attendants were driving people to their cars from the park and helping them get out of the mud. I will definitely come back to check out the park when there is nothing going on and give an update to my review. But for now this is about all the...
Read moreLong overdue review. I am a regular at Evans Towne Center Park. I enjoy people and pet watching while reading my books. In the past couple of days, I have noticed one park recreation and event employee named James. Both yesterday and today, I have seen James stay on top of keeping rest rooms clean and smelling nice, accommodating people hosting private party set-ups under pavilions by removing their trash as needed, empty park cans, and pick up liter / trash around park. Today, while sitting and reading book, I introduced myself to James and said, " Thank you for everything that you do in keeping Evans Towne Center Park comfortable, clean, and beautiful!" I was taken aback when James from Kentucky stated that he is a new employee. You are blessed to have a young man with exceptional time management skills and take pride in the upkeep of our park. You have an asset to your team, so please take care of James because he does not need to be micro- managed ( these days, James work ethic is a plus.) Thank you James and your entire team for the upkeep that goes into keeping our parks beautiful and a great place to...
Read moreThis is one of the nicest playgrounds ive been to. I love the location and the traffic is slower. Right there. Its very well kept and ny kids love to play there. There is tons of open lawn for kids to run, play tag, play sports etc. There is a covered picnic area where you can eat or even host a birthday party (which weve done twice). There are approx. 5 or 6 tables and its right next to The playground which has lots of fun and really nice updated equipment. There is an awesome water play area with fountains which is a big hit in the summertime, theres a large seating area thats covered (like a tent) and even a separate fenced in area that has the coolest baby swings ever.) one of thr things ive come to appreciate is that there is a cement paved walking track that I can walk on while still able to see the kids playing. Its a beautiful park which Im confident anyone would enjoy visiting. Oh and there is the most thoughtful little doggy water fountain beside a larger one so that everyone can stay hydrated on a...
