I love this place, and I stop by as often as my wife allows me. The biggest factor is that the food is phenomenal. I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I have had quite a few items. More often than not I'll order a chicken or al pastor burrito. You can choose salsa rojo, salsa verde, or even both. I recommend the verde if you are into tomatillo based salsas. If you ask them, they will also drizzle the thing in additional salsa and cheese, then bake it all together for a short while. I recommend that as well. This is a small joint, run by a local family. They are very nice people, and it pleases me that my hard-earned cash goes to them instead of a large corporation. Pricing is pretty good as well - on the low side for quality Mexican fare. There is cheaper Mexican food around, but nothing that tastes this good for the price. This establishment has gone through a lot of changes since it opened. In the beginning their menu was pretty small, and they didn't seem to attract a lot of customers. I tried it on a whim, and loved the food. They had some early growing pains with ingredient availability. For a while it seemed like every time I went in there, they were out of something I wanted. This hasn't happened to me in a long time. I don't think this is a problem anymore. The word seems to have got out about this place. They draw significantly larger numbers of customers these days. Their menu has a lot of new items, and they have special dishes that are only available on certain days of the week. I'm not a huge fan of the building. It is extremely small, and I wouldn't call it the cleanest place. If you are a clean freak, don't fret. It isn't gross by any stretch of the imagination. They added a bunch of outdoor seating (essentially in the parking lot) to make room for the new influx of customers. I don't know what they will do come winter and its colder temps. There just isn't enough seating inside to handle the number of visitors they are getting at this point. It's not a huge deal for me, since I usually order food to-go, but could be problematic for others. I would not be shocked if they had to move to a larger location at some point. A couple negative points (no one is perfect). As the volume of customers has increased, so has the wait time to get food. It's not really their fault. They seem to have increased the staff appropriately, but the kitchen is just so darn small that they can only accommodate so many orders at one time. The only other complaint is their hours of business. They seem to close awfully early - maybe even 7pm? I think they are closed on Sunday (apologies if that is wrong). There have been many times in the past when I decided to get something there, only to discover that they were already closed. Now that they have a larger staff, this may have changed. I am already programmed to get there earlier, so I haven't even tried later hours. Small annoyances aside, the food is just fantastic, they seem like great people, and I love the vibe and...
Read moreLet me start this out by saying I absolutely love this place, it’s the best authentic style Mexican food in North Bend. I’ve lived in this area my whole life and have eaten here since they opened, in recent years I’ve been coming for food atleast once a week. The food is delicious and portions are fair. The prices are higher than you’d find in the city, but that comes with being in a tourist town. In recent times my experiences have not been as great. Over the past few months my online orders have not come with forks, knives, napkins or salsa. This goes for my coworkers orders aswell. Not a huge deal, but it is a simple courtesy. It makes the meals somewhat hard to eat back at the jobsite. I often find myself scooping out the food with the lid of the container. The salsa used to be very good in my memory, now it just tastes like rosarita salsa from the grocery store. They don’t give you much of it either, the cups used to be mostly full. Now they are about a quarter full. All in all, I’m not going to stop coming here. But the decrease in customer service has been...
Read moreThis is a delightful little taco stand at the east end of the main drag in North Bend. Seating is outside with a splendid view of Mt. Si across the street. We arrived for lunch a little past the main lunch hour so there was not a crowd. The day was a brilliant summer day of high 60s low 70s temperatures so the dining area was perfect. One orders inside and the food is delivered to your table. I had a chicken burrito with guacamole and sour cream (extra$) and my dining partner had bread tacos they kindly made despite the late hour. My burrito was easily over one pound as seems to be the custom these days. It was superb. Very well seasoned with a lot of chicken, guacamole and sour cream. The breakfast tacos were fried egg street tacos (3) with onion and cilantro. They had a selection of hot sauces that would complement the tacos depending on your preference for heat. Sitting under the umbrella with a light breeze and an achingly blue sky was just a delight. A definite must for those looking for good Mexican food in a...
