B2 Bistro in North Brunswick, NJ 🤩 Rated 8.6 because they’re sangria isn’t that strong and the sushi roll I got didn’t hit the same as last time! 🍣 They’re pizza brought the rating up I got the The North Brunswick which has pomodoro sauce, hot sopressata, sausage, mozzarella, caramelized onions, bacon & ricotta 🍕🔥One of the best pizza’s i’ve ever had🤤 One of our favorite spots near the shore with the best pizza & sushi so i got both 😆 #b2bistro #b2bistronorthbrunswick #njeats #njrestaurants #njrestaurantreview #restaurantreview #northbrunswicknj #sushirestaurant #bestrestaurantsnj

I NO LONGER recommend this place. I suggest you read this review. I don’t get paid to write reviews and I’m not a former employee. I have no reason to lie about my experience. As an honest customer and an individual who loves to dine at many places, I’m huge on customer service and quality. This is my first time leaving a google review because it’s that upsetting and disappointing. I’ve had one too many bad experiences here. Last night was it for me. This was THE WORST bridal shower dinner/restaurant dining experience I’ve ever had in my life. I didn’t want to ruin the bride’s-to-be night but I definitely would’ve asked for an entire new menu or a refund for us. Yes, the place is beautiful but the food and service is the COMPLETE opposite. Our salad was old. The presentation was awful. It looked like our food was just thrown onto the plate! The shrimp scampi was watery, overcooked with barely any taste. Take a look at the photos!! Unfortunately I’m unable to upload videos but honestly….Would you eat that? When you look at it as a server or cook, nothing clicks in your head like “hmmm this doesn’t seem presentable or fresh”?? We paid $45 pp to receive that quality which would’ve been better spent at a Chinese buffet. The best part was the dessert and even the brownie was literally just a slither!! The rest was a bowl of ice cream and whipped cream. I had a watermelon margarita at the bar for $11 and then I ordered the SAME. EXACT. DRINK. at the table with the party and it was $16. When I asked the server why did it cost more for the same drink, his response: “because you’re at a private party and we use top shelf tequila”. I said that makes zero sense for you to charge me for the same drink based off of where I was sitting. I didn’t ask for a top shelf tequila and that needs to be removed from my bill. Again, I strongly do not recommend this place. I’m over it. I have come to this establishment on different occasions and have been disappointed with their food quality and hospitality. They were not friendly and I feel invisible when I sit at the bar. There’s been a couple of times where bartenders have walked past me without greeting me while the bar WASN’T busy. The one guy never comes back and ask “how was your food, do you need anything else” so I just close out my check immediately after ordering. The only satisfying items I had were pizza, sushi, and steak sliders which you can get from anywhere. Get a Surfside and items on the happy hour menu if that. It’s places like this that attract customers with their ambiance and get all of your money just to give you service like this. Rude servers and managers. Low quality food and presentation. It is not fair and it’s quite pathetic like that dead salad. I wish I could take back every dollar I ever spent, take back my tips, and go spend it at iHop or something. All I can say is good luck on your experience.

***This is an edited (updated review after having contact with Russel, the manager)…..I have removed the majority of my 1st review and added our 2nd experience at B2. This is part of the 1st review: The place had a nice feel upon entering and expected a good experience. Started off with 2 orders of clams on the half shell which were pretty good especially since I could adjust the amount of horseradish since it came with a cup of freshly ground along with a vinegar that had some hot pepper in it. That vinegar side note was new to me, but it was another level of flavor I never had before that was a pleasant addition I enjoyed. The main courses were short ribs, the rib along with the sautéed spinach underneath were the only edible items in the dish. The mashed potatoes and the “rosemary” demi-glace were so salty that neither of us could eat them, even with the short rib (we tried). That was a very short version of my 1st review and after a 2nd visit, the experience was totally the opposite. In our 2nd visit, we had the lobster Mac and cheese and a corned beef cheesesteak from their special menu. The lobster dish was delicious which had a substantial amount of chunks of lobster and had the right amount of cheese plus a great crunch on top. The corned beef cheesesteak (should make it part of its main menu) had a tremendous amount of corned beef that was topped with caramelized onions along with a nice crunchy slaw that, thankfully, was not sweet. The sandwich came with some delicious garlic and Parmesan cheese fries and surprisingly I took the fries home for change, they were that good. To be totally honest and open, this dinner was basically taken care of by Russel. He had requested that I contact him in the comments of my 1st review and asked to re-visit for a 2nd chance. Russel offered a gift certificate, no amount was mentioned, but I decided to return nonetheless. After our dinner, I approached the hostess and was introduced to Russel. He actually provided more than I expected, however, I have to say I never expected anything from my reviews to begin with. This new review is an honest one and is based on both experiences along with the concern management has for its customers and reputation. I am glad that I returned as it totally changed my view of B2. I will be back.

There is absolutely no chance I would ever visit this establishment again. There is a difference between working out the kinks with a newer restaurant and then just hiring poorly and having inept staff with an incompetent kitchen, flavorless food and a rude manager.

SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND AGGRAVATION ON AN EXPERIENCE AND FOOD YOU'LL ACTUALLY ENJOY!

As a family of four we went there yesterday for Father's Day. My sister was behind me when walking in the restaurant through the front door and some rude gentlemen walked right in front of here. Thought it was a patron, turned out to be manager/owner must have an omen of things to come. Hostess was polite and sat us to our table, didn't provide drink menu. The water glasses we had were incredibly dirty and we had to ask for a clean set. Took an interminable amount of time for waiter to eventually take drink order. There are some beers listed on the wall and some of the menus hard to tell if bottle or tap. Tried to order French Dip and was unavailable. Waiter was randomly cleaning tables, going inside and outside and taking other tables orders and this was a dominant issue the entire dinner. We had to ask another server to bring salt and she said she would be right back, and never returned with the salt. My sister got up and went over to the place setting area where the manager and our server were bring salt back to the table. The manager/owner spoke to our server you could visibly see, but neither directly addressed what the issues were. Had to ask for the appetizers plates to be removed from the table and not left in the middle so we could eat entree.

Manager never came to our table to ask My sister ordered a burrata salad that was supposed to come with Prosecco pesto with grilled peaches. Her order came out with raw peaches, no sort of dressing, rotted and wilted frisée with a side of humus?!! My sister asked the waiter why the peaches weren't grilled, where was the pesto and why the frisée was brown? Waiter unaware of the issue with the order and my sister had to point it out to the waiter. Calmarai might have had calamari I could only taste breading. My dad got seafood medley and seafood tasted frozen with no flavor. Stale bread from the day before was used to serve with and unless you were a glutton for punishment and love getting teeth replaced it was not edible.

At this point with all the issues the waiter probably assumed he was not getting a very good tip. (still tipped 20%) When we declined dessert. Again borderline had to beg for the check. Finally reached my threshold in terms of the 10-15 minutes it took to get the check and raised my hand to grab the manager's attention and blatantly got on his tip toes to overlook my gesture and act like he was looking at something in back of restaurant.

Your staff is only as strong as its leader and it looks like this place is lacking in all areas. Sometimes its better to pay a bit more for quality staff especially in the kitchen. When your trainer lacks professionalism and people skills, you can't expect much out of your staff. There were some members that were helpful and polite, but they were few and far between. Those that were skilled probably have to rise above the circumstance of the poor management and leadership they are surrounded with.

The design inside is nice, but if you keep the garage patio open you should have thought of cross ventilation with fans for warmer days on the inside.

The food and experience should be representative of the prices you are charging, but both were unfounded in our experience, obviously won't be around for a 2nd try.

Update reached out to management per owner. E-Mailed Manager per owner and she wanted me to call the establishment to chase her down. I’m in customer service would coordinate efforts to remedy any patrons experience as compared to having further inconvenience themselves. Experience outlined above just speaks to poor quality from the food, to the management, to the staff. It all speaks...

my baby shower was held here today 4/15/23. we were booked from 12pm-4pm. the room is very pretty with neutral colors so it gives free range to decorate however you like. the food was pretty decent. the penne was a bit bland, but the pesto shrimp was delicious and all the guests loved it. we had about 40 guests, with two servers so we did have to grab them several times to order drinks, but they were doing their best and were nice. but unfortunately this is where the "nice parts end". the event coordinator who went by the name of carol ruined our experience. upon arrival, we moved a speaker from the back of our table, to behind where the food was being served. she quickly came over and told us "this cannot be here", she was abrupt, and nearly pushed us out the way. we said "oh, sorry we just didn't want it behind a table where guests will be talking" . she again very abruptly said "well, it can be here. our servers will be standing there" ...which okay, understood, but her delivery was horrible. next, we had a guest with a very bad celiac allergy. we informed the venue ahead of time, but we always double check before touching any of the food given to that particular person. the guest, had bbq with her food, so she asked the server was this gluten free because her disease is very sensitive. the server said she wasn't sure but would grab carol. carol approached the guest very aggressively and asked what the issue was "it's just bbq sauce", so this guest had to dumb down and educate her on the importance of being extra careful of what she consumes. our guests started to head out around 330ish, but given we had the event space until 4, some did linger. the servers started to clean the tables off, so we started to gather our gifts, decor, ect. at 4pm, i personally witness carol go up to a table where a guest was feeding her baby and told her to "time is up, you have to move along". i almost couldn't believe how rude she was. but it didnt stop there. we are now all collectively working together to break things down and gather all our gifts, which there was alot. it was raining very heavily outside so taking trips back and forth were taking some time. around 4:08 shes now loudly telling the guests cleaning up that they need to "work faster" ... EXCUSE ME?! one of my guest said "we are trying our hardest to work fast. you do not have to be rude." ...carol then says "im not rude, we have a wedding here at 5pm". first of all, why would you book two parties back to back? very common sense to give your guests time to clean up and transport their items. your greed and poor planning is NOT our problem. carol then proceeded to talk about it, to her staff, very loudly "this is ridiculous. why are they still here. i dont understand." now the tension can be cut with a knife. we are now walking out, and carol is behind us saying "you didnt pay your tab." ...maam ... we have a contract signed with you, not an open bar tab at happy hour. we told her, the person paying is coming, relax. we proceeded to say "keep it moving, keep it moving" while we are walking out with items. a guest then turns around and says "we are leaving, you do not have to be rude". carol then steps within a centimeter of my guests face, POKES HER IN THE CHEST and says "well you shouldn't have stood longer than you were supposed to!!" . obviously all hell broke loose, because what kind of trashy person does this entablement hire, to insult, then physically touch a guest. TRASH TRASH TRASH. we spent thousands of dollars for our special celebration, only to be treated horribly. i am mortified my guests experienced this, and i am very saddened that they employee trashy people with absolutely no decency. my in-laws come here EVERY thursday. my guests who left early sat at the bar and spent more money, and its a huge slap in the face. if you're looking into booking an event here, spare yourself the money...
