Levys Jerkstand — Restaurant in North Carolina

I didn’t want leave a review because I didn’t have a good experience however I sat and sat and sat on it for 4 hours and the fact that I am still full only because of the price of the plate I have to leave the review.

I visited the food truck in Raleigh today I drove over an hour to get there they rang me up for an oxtail plate and a jerk chicken plate the oxtail plate was $30 alone so I immediately assumed that this plate would be amazing. I had two sides macaroni and cheese and cabbage we also bought jerk chicken plate with greens and macaroni and cheese….

I waited for quite some time to get my food and this was actually the first thing I had eaten all day. Usually when you don’t eat all day the first thing that you put in your mouth is amazing. But this food was not, it was very under season. My oxtails were swimming in grease, maybe they assumed that they were giving me some sort of gravy but there wasn’t any literally seemed as though they took a big scooper and scooped out the very top layers of grease and put it in my tray over the oxtails the cabbage had no seasoning at all and the macaroni and cheese was just as bland.

I ate the entire plate ONLY because it cost me $30.

My best friend is Jamaican and she cooks for me often because I love the culture. I have also been to Jamaica 5 times. This was in no way shape or form a reflection...

Can’t speak to the food. Ordered online, got to the place where they were supposed to be, and they weren’t there. Called confused, and the woman who answered acted like it was my fault. Turned out while I was driving there, they had sent a follow up email rejecting my order because they were leaving the venue early. When I saw that, I acknowledged it, and she said in a deeply sarcastic tone, “okey-dokey!” like I had been the jerk rather than just a confused and hungry customer. When I tell you! these are the best! Oxtails in triangle , the triad and all of the above!! I’ve had my fair share of oxtails from all around, and none of them can compare to the size, the flavor and the quality of Levy’s Jerkstand’s! So good that they even load you up on the plantains too!
