I have been a long time MOD pizza lover (I’ve been to 4 locations around the clt area ) after a long road trip I figured why not stop. I’ve always had wonderful experiences, but tonight around 7:30 my boyfriend and I walked in and weren’t greeted, figuring maybe they said something but couldn’t hear because of the mask we waited a few moments and two girls looked at us and said they would be with us in a minute and the boys were doing other tasks. Once the white lady came back she immediately said “how many pizzas” I said two and she yelled back the name and pulled down her mask to ask again. She rushed through our order and touched my veggie pizza to my boyfriends meat pizza (I’m a vegetarian) but decided not to say any thing. She then placed pizzas in the center and a young man put our pizzas in the oven and the woman walked to rush other customers with our never changing gloves. A nicer young man checked us out but he and his fellow coworkers looked miserable in her presence. She barked orders to other employees. We thought we were coming close to close(10pm) but it was only 7:30, we ate quickly and left upset. We had never had a bad experience at a mod. I will stick to my other locations but super sad to see one person bringing down the whole team and mods morale. Hopefully there can be an intervention or maybe it was just a bad day for her but I just want my normal happy mod back. Two stars for the friendly young man...
Read moreI only have 1 day off every other week, Tuesday. So, I made it an unofficial tradition to enjoy my Tuesday at Mod Pizza. This location is the only one I have issues with. I was the first customer there on 2-22-22. The older lady is a black woman with short gray hair unfriendly and rude. I walked in with her on the phone, and I greeted her. The first thing she said was, "What do you want?" angrily. I picked up on it but brushed it off since I was heading somewhere else.
After she placed the pizza in the oven, I could hear her muttering something under her breath. Then comes to the register to ring me out. I only had cash at the time, and she was mad about the change situation. I couldn't help that. I got my change from her and headed over to sit and wait for my pizza, and I remembered I like Pesto on my pizza after it comes out. So I simply ask, "oh I'm sorry, can you add pesto when I comes out?"
The look she gave me was that of someone insulting her family to her face. "What!!??" she said. I'm taken aback by the aggressive tone, but rather than escalate the issue, I just repeat my request. When the pizza came out and was done, she slammed on the overhead and said aggressively, "it's done." I'm wondering what I did to warrant this behavior. All I did was walk into the restaurant in a great mood, but I left furious.
Lady, if you're not having a good day, stay the hell home. Don't infect other people with your...
Read moreMod pizza is a great place for a quick bite. I've been here around 10 times and only 1 of those times didn't live up to the standard.
Normally when I go, I always get the 11" with meats. There are plenty of meat, veggie and cheese options to choose from, so pile high without shame. The staff are always nice and are always there to help with any questions.
My last visit, I got my usual (bacon, sausage, ground beef, and Canadian bacon) and decided to try the cinnamon sticks based on previous reviews. I coupled them with the strawberry dip. They were okay, but I was left not wanting them again. They were kind of burnt on the bottom but I just didn't think they were as good as I was led to believe.
The pizza was very good, as usual. You can get the 6" or the 11". If your are hungry, get the 11" for sure as it's thin crust. If you have kids or just want to try out different topping combos, get the 6". My wife always gets the 6" and is not hungry after.
Not only is this one of my top choices for something quick, but it's one of my favorite pizza places now. Mainly based on the one price offering. You pay one price and can't get unlimited toppings. Something you will never find...
