First time eating at Sabaidee and we loved it. So many options that we have been looking for on the menu.
Crab Ragoons were perfectly cooked and not overly greasy. The crab and cream cheese filling was nice and soft , but still kept it's form. The dipping sauce was a great balance of sweet and tangy.
Thai Iced Coffee was cool and refreshing, but still hit that strong and sweet note we wanted. And the Sweet tea had a subtle under flavor that was nice but
Philadelphia Sushi Roll was well packed and had good portions of salmon, crab, cream cheese, and avocado. The sauce had a nice gentle sweetness to it.
We had the Rama Garden entree with Chicken and the portion was perfect for me and my wife to share. When we mixed the peanut sauce in it was that nice Pad Tai flavor but on rice.
Now the atmosphere was everything you would expect in a Thai restaurant, but in a near minimalist level. The pictures and decor were simple and showed off the charm we think of from Thailand. They had little abstract sushi slices topped with salmon, tuna, and shrimp over the sushi bar.
By far, the service was the best we have had at a Thai restaurant in a while. Our server was on top of everything. She gave us time to look at the menu without forgetting to check on us. Every few minutes she made sure everything was good. Our tea and water was never empty. She was also very nice.
Now what prompted this review was what happened after we left. We had to go get groceries and when we were checking out I noticed my card was missing. I know she returned it because it was on top of the sign copies of the receipt. We went back and before I could say anything our server asked if I forgot my card. She opened the till and confirmed my name before pulling it out of the drawer.
We will be going back. And we intend to try most of the...
Read moreThe duck curry was phenomenal! That is the only reason there are 2 stars marked. Unfortunately, that's where my positive ends. The sign says they close at 930. We walk in at 850 and ask "is it too late to come eat?". "No, please come in" they say! From there, I felt rushed to order, felt like my gluten allergy was a nuisance (it very much is, but I already know that! Don't make me feel worse) and rushed to leave. We finished eating at 9:18, stacked our plates, because that's what I do, and waited for our sever because I wanted to ask for a cocktail and our check. (They are closing soon and I was being thoughtful.) At 926, I had to call the server over as he was sweeping the floor and asked "is it too late to get a drink?" "Yes everything is closed" he says. Oh, I said, "what time do you close?" (Thinking I had read the sign wrong!) He said "930". I said "but it's only 926" and he said "sorry everything is closed." I then spoke with the manager and she said that everything closes 5 mins before 930... "Last call perhaps?". I said..."sorry she says"... Folks, if you're going to be in the hospitality industry, then you should probably be hospitable! If you want to close your restaurant at 9, then post that on your sign and don't welcome people in. But if you say your restaurant is open until 930, your server should check on the guest in a timely manner, especially since you are clearly rushing them out. And then, after the guest waits patiently while feeling rushed and the guest has to call the server over, you should probably make that guest a drink! Even if it is one minute past your 5 minute with no last call rule! Final result, if you want an good experience, this is...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant and waited 40 minutes to be seated and there were numerous guests waiting at the door. None of the staff asked any guest to be socially distant or to wait outside. We were a party of four and were told that the larger table in the dining area by the bar was empty due to social distancing. Once we were seated another party of four were seated at the large table adjacent to our table. Our order was taken for two appetizers, entrees, sushi, a small salad, and small soup. We did not have any eating utensils and when we asked for utensils and napkins the forks were dirty plainly placed on the table on napkins One appetizer came out to the table then later the soup and the second appetizer. There were more eating utensils brought to the table wrapped in napkins Big difference than before. Two entrees arrived but the three orders of sushi never arrived. We were told due to the restaurant being busy and the numerous orders to go our sushi would take longer. We observed other tables receive their sushi orders and entrees together or in a timely fashion and no one had to wait or not be served. We have patronized Sabaidee numerous times and have never been so disappointed in the quality of service we received. Our patience had completely diminished. We had to pay our bil for the food we actually consumed and had to leave to purchase food for the remaing members o family due to the poor service we received. Time is something you can not get back or replace. The establishment was generous to give us th two entrees that came out by themselves but having our other members of our family not eat and time wasted did not make up for the...
