We were so excited to try this new burger joint, so we hit it up for lunch on what I believe was their first weekend open. It was packed, and the ordering process was odd. You take a menu and a colored pencil and mark what you want, how you want it, sides, etc. Then you present it to the register girl who proceeds to read it back to you before entering it in the computer, which kind of defeats the purpose but ensures accuracy, I suppose. Except that she forgot to look at the back and almost missed hubby's chicken tenders and milkshake. It was very loud and hard to hear the girl asking what kind of sauce and whatnot we wanted, but we finally got the order placed, with a burger, side, and drink each, plus the extra chicken and shake, totaling $35. I got the double burger fried green tomato-style, with pretzels as the side and cheese sauce for dipping them. Hubby got the double burger purist-style with fries.
The burgers are supposed to be the specialty here, but were definitely underwhelming. We were glad we got doubles because they were rather small compared to the advertisements, the meat was fine but a bit bland, and my toppings somehow managed to cancel each other out, tomatoes lacking flavor and just tasting like breading, pimento cheese so subtle as to be barely noticeable. Hubby's burger was well-cooked but also bland, and both would have benefitted from salt and pepper.
The fries were fresh-cut, skin-on, and very good, and the Come Back Sauce is delicious for dipping them. The shake was fine, thick and hand-spun. The pretzels, which they claim to make in-house, were comparable to the ones from the freezer section of the grocery store, and the cheese sauce was powdery, watery, and bland as if made from a powdered mix. Same with the chicken tenders and the honey mustard. You can do better at home.
For the hype and the price, we felt this place did not reach our expectations. They are just getting their groove going, so we will probably give them another try after some time. There is an even MORE expensive burger option, with fresh grass-fed local beef, and we will see if the $12 burger earns some seasoning. Hopefully our second trip will be more impressive...

I stopped here on Sunday because it was another busy weekend day and I wanted to quickly feed my children. I ordered something for myself and my two children. I got to the window, was hand in my food, and I specifically asked the person at the window if everything was in the bag. Their response to me was “it should be”. As a hospitality professional, this is not the proper response number one. You should take the time to make sure that everything was in there. I do live far away and even though it’s not my fault, I’ll take some blame here because I didn’t stop your drive-through to check my food and make sure everything was in there to be considerate. I pulled off so that I did not hold your busy drive-through up unfortunately for me when I got home one of my children did not have any food other than their drink to eat. This obviously put us behind which made me waste another 45 minutes to cook food for my child while the other one had food which already caused a disturbance I called the store and was told that I will be emailed a voucher… that never happened. This was last Sunday. I called again this Tuesday and was told by the manager that I’m sorry they don’t process them until Friday again that is a huge lack of communication where someone just could have told me that instead of having me waiting for days for an email just to feel like I didn’t get robbed at your drive-through because I didn’t get the food that I paid for with my hard earned money. I was told that they process it on Friday and I would expect to receive an email on Friday that did not happen again today is Saturday. I truly do expect more from a local own business better communication better transparency with your clients and I truly hope that someone will try and make this correct because currently I am extremely dissatisfied and not pleased at all.
**Update: They did send me an auto generated email with a voucher for a meal exactly 2 weeks later. I have to say this: The food is great and I do believe they are worth a try, I highly recommend checking to make sure that all of the food...
Read moreIf I could give this place negative stars..... the appearance is very bright and welcoming and this is the only positive thing about this place. It was the outside patio that drew us in. The menu was not at all easily navigated, most things do not come as a meal, you have to order and pay for everything separately. I was surprised and suspicious that, our order was done in a matter of minutes. Immediately I knew nothing was even remotely prepared fresh... and I ordered their fried green tomato burger..... anyone knows that fried green tomatoes take longer than just a few minutes to cook. My son who ordered a number 1, a regular cheese burger with all of the fixings, got a plain, flat cheese burger with nothing on it. When we inquired about it, they even came all the way to our table in front of other patrons and tried to read the receipt and insinuate that, we were wrong and, in fact, did order this. At this point I'm already thoroughly annoyed. She then insinuated that we just didn't want to pay for it by saying "Well if that is what you want, you have to pay for it!" Which I did, along with the one we didn't order because she "can't take it back". The SHREDDED cheese on my burger was cold, and never melted. My bun was soggy, and it was wrapped haphazardly. Our fries were visually appealing, and hot, but stale... my daughter ordered a plain cheese burger with ketchup. It was almost completely flat, so much so, I was confused that it was even an actual burger until we unwrapped it; and it had no ketchup. The ketchup tasted like it was diluted with some other substance which made it a little sweet/spicy.... even another patron commented on it and asked me if I thought it tasted okay.... it didn't. My other son ordered a chicken sandwich, it was not as pictured (which, let's face it, nothing ever is), but it was dry and did not taste like a chicken sandwich according to my son. None of us finished even half of our food, we threw it away and left feeling sick to our stomach for the rest of the day and most of the night. We won't be back and if I can deter anyone else, I would be saving them...
