Kin Dee Thai in Bothell is the kind of place you keep going back to eat over and over rather than try a new place because the food is perfect every time. The care in each dish is meticulous. When you step in you forget you are in a shopping center with Dollar Tree and Auto Parts and feel like you are elevated to a much finer dining experience than usually happens in Bothell. The ambiance is well done, but the food is what I really want to talk about. I love yellow curry, but rarely do I walk away wanting to lick the plate clean. I have tried their yellow curry with tofu and chicken. Both were extremely well done. The chicken is my jam though because you can tell the meat isn't dry, but tender, marinated, and perfect. No mushy vegetables in the dishes--the broccoli is cooked with a bite of crispness left. The first few times I tried several of the street food dishes--all delicious and they really give you a taste you don't find else where. My husband loves the Pad Kee Mao so much he can't bring himself to vary his order even though he knows everything he tries there will be amazing. Kao Ka Moo was amazing street food--so tender and flavorful. The prices are about what you would expect for Seattle Thai food, but the quality here is 100x better as it feels like there is a real master chef. I keep meaning to take pictures of my food before I am halfway through eating it, but I have been here 5ish times and failed every single time. If you live within 30 minutes--don't bother eating Thai food anywhere else as it is just amazing here. A note on spicing--ordering a 1 level spice you will actually get spicy food --you can order much hotter if you like. The spice scale is perfect for me, but wouldn't be so great for someone who doesn't enjoy a little spice. Thanks to all the staff who are extremely attentive and really care about the food they serve...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant, which leaves me questioning their attitude toward both food safety and customer respect.
My wife and I ordered a Tom Yum soup, and as we were nearly finished, we found a shrimp with visible burnt black marks on it (see photo). When we raised this with the waitress, she took the bowl back to the kitchen. We were expecting a proper resolution, either by remaking the dish or offering to take it off the bill.
Instead, the waitress returned and insisted the burnt shrimp was ânormalâ and âperfectly edible.â This was shocking. Burnt food is not acceptable, and trying to convince your customers otherwise is insulting. The manager did apologize, but still claimed it was ânormalâ and told us, âif you donât LIKE it, we can take it off the bill.â This made me extremely angry because it was never about âlikingâ the food. Burnt food shouldnât be served in the first place, period.
What bothered me even more was how the waitress seemed to be taking advantage of my wifeâs kind and forgiving nature. My wife is always friendly and patient, but their dismissive attitude made me feel like they were exploiting her niceness or possibly even discriminating against us as Asian customers. Itâs deeply upsetting to feel like youâre being treated unfairly because of who you are.
This restaurant clearly does not value their customers or take responsibility for the quality of their food. Their refusal to acknowledge a clear mistake and their attempt to push burnt food onto us is unacceptable. I did choose to pay for the entire meal, but I cannot recommend this place to anyone and strongly urge others to think twice before...
Read moreHeyo from San Francisco! My coworkers recommended this spot so I gave it a try. The overall setup of the restaurant is nice. The bar is separated with a 21+ sign. The workers speak Cantonese among other languages (interesting đ). The menu was bigger than I expected. I just had to try all I can squeeze in my stomach. I highly recommend ordering outside of your comfort zone (pad kee mao).
I started off with their Kin Dee Wings. Careful itâs hot because they serve it fresh out. The flavors by itself is fine - I didnât need the sauce. I especially enjoyed the crispy texture of the skin.
My next item was their Kam Soi Gai. Thankfully this wasnât too spicy for me. The chicken thigh was very soft and delicious. The curry was flavorful. The egg noodles was way too filling with the curry. They lay the onions and other garnish on top of this bowl of fried egg noodles, which break down in the curry. I wasnât able to fully finish this dish. Very filling.
The Thai tea custard threw me off. It was the most disappointing item I tried. The consistency of the dessert was close to water. I recommend avoiding this and going for their mango sticky rice, if available, or their black sticky rice with ube.
For my drinks I went with their butterfly peas soda and Thai iced tea. Hard to go wrong with Thai iced tea here except it kept me up all night!
Anyway, really apologize for my photos. Itâs an older phone so it struggles with low lighting. Iâll definitely come back if Iâm in...
