El Sur Empanadas — Restaurant in North Fair Oaks

Will NOT recommend! I tried their empanadas at an office event and it was good. For the holidays, I make an online order on 12/22 Thursday for next day pick up on 12/23 Friday. Their online system took my order and my credit card payment. I also got an email receipt to confirm my order. After an hour drive to their restaurant at Noon on 12/23, surprisingly I found their restaurant was closed. I called and rang their doorbell multiple times and couldn’t get hold of anyone. I waited around for an hour hoping the owner or someone may show up. No one was there and I was not able to get my paid order. If it’s a holiday hour change, they should post that on their website and not to take orders, and change the hours on google research as well. This is very disappointing and a waste of my time, and my holiday dinner plan had to change a bit. I couldn’t share the empanadas with the neighbors as planned. This small family business makes beautifully crafted empanadas! I treat myself and grab extra to have in my freezer along with my Togo order. Every time I pop a couple of these in my oven (400 degrees for 30 is all it takes) I pat myself on the back, toss up a quick salad and voila! Perfectly home cooked tasty pockets of love that are sure to satisfy your heart and belly. Don’t forget to order the Chimichurri. I get the large because not only does it pair with every flavor on the menu, it makes a heavenly salad dressing. Oh! and speaking of pairing .. have them pack in a bottle or two of wine and...

This is a very tiny place which only serves empanadas. They sell 5 kind of empanadas. I had chicken and traditional. My friend had mushroom one. The mushroom one tasted pretty good but the traditional ones were okay. The meat was chewy, the flavors were missing. The chicken was just okay. The sauce were good. The salad was good.
