El Paisano Taqueria, Carniceria y Market — Restaurant in North Fair Oaks

Are you in the mood for a really good taco and are fine with eating on a Costco pull out table in between a meat counter and an aisle of flour? Then do I have the place for you!

This is the 8th Mexican taco joint I've tried on this street and from a flavour standpoint it is my favorite! We had the pork, beef and chicken - all delicious.

The bathroom is through the kitchen and you need to use the kitchen sink to clean your hands. It was weird but I was thankful I was allowed to use it. Joy of toddlers is they always need to go when you least expect it.

You pick out your drink at the grocery section and pay for everything at the grocery store cash on...

We stopped here after work on a Saturday on a strong recommendation from a coworker. I was told the tacos are incredible and made with fresh tortillas. They did not disappoint at all. The birria and barbacoa tacos were unbelievable. I should mention they're big, they're not street tacos. We did have a small amount of trouble getting our order right. We ordered 4 tacos but somehow received 3 plates each with 3 tacos. Not really an issue because nobody is going to turn down extra tacos, we just took the extras those to go. The ordering/payment process is really odd...

Amazing authentic, handmade Mexican food! WORST SERVICE ANYWHERE!!!! They don't even apologize for it. Be prepared to wait over 45 minutes for something already made that just needs to be put on a plate or a bowl. They just smile (barely) when finally bringing you your food and quickly leave. You have to chase them down to get more of their awesome handmade tortillas. I feel like I'm in the Soup Nazi Seinfeld...
