Still 5 stars because I’ve gone twice and still enjoyed my meal and everything involved but i do have a couple issues. The food is always good, shrimp was cooked perfectly, steak both times was cooked to liking. The only issues with the food is 1: there’s either too much sauce or too little sauce on a plate. When I got the Caribbean chicken, there was A LOT of balsamic glaze, when my boyfriend got the NY strip with chimichurri, there was very little chimichurri both times, and when I got the sweet heat shrimp, it was completely doused in the sweet chili sauce. 2: an element of a dish can sometimes be completely forgotten. We got the pecan balls for dessert one time and there was no chocolate sauce. I wouldn’t usually mind but it seems like a simple dish and we basically paid $2 for the pecans (this was $8, and the regular ice cream is $6). 3: the plating is kind of odd and makes it difficult to eat. They usually put all the sides spread out on the plate and then the protein directly on top. It’s somewhat visually appealing, but you kinda have to play with your food for a minute before you actually get to eat, and the plates are small compared to the amount of food, so it’s difficult to spread everything out. I wouldn’t have a problem with this with some dishes of course, but it’s difficult to cut meat with a fork and knife when there soft potatoes or vegetables underneath. The service here has been great. We didn’t need to wait to sit, and our waitresses were attentive but not overbearing with questions and check-ins. We kind of had to wait a while for food and drinks both times, but we went there on busy nights so it didn’t bother us. As for atmosphere, the place is really cute and they have outdoor seating with a fire pit that looks so fun on a cool summer night, but we went on a day with live music and it was almost unbearably loud! We had to scream to talk to each other and sometimes completely stretch across the table. I love places that feature local musicians on weekends, but please just turn the speakers down a littleeee bit. We were the farthest you could be from the musician and it was still so loud. We went to target after dinner and we could still clearly hear him at the entrance to target. Overall, I would still go back and also recommend this place, but probably would mention some of...
Read moreWe (Husband and self) love The Firepit. This is the restaurant that we go to instead of any chain when we want to stay within 20 minutes of our home. The food is always 100% consistent and delicious. The pics are of out last visit on 02/09/19. I had the Thai Sweet Heat Shrimp - Hard Wood Grilled Shrimp, Sweet Chili Thai Sauce, Grilled Pineapple Salsa, Fresh Scallions, and Charred Vegetable Fried Rice with a side of Wood Fired Cornbread . . . Husband had the 9oz. center-cut Aged Sirloin, Smashed Potatoes, and roasted Roasted Onions. We always start with the wood-fired pretzels because yeah - wood fired pretzels!!!!! We have never had a bad meal at The Firepit. I always call if we are going at prime dinner time on a Saturday for reservations and had never had to wait.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because on 3 different occasions, with one particular waitress, service has been slow. You should not have to wait for a refill where the manager ends up having to come over to ask you if you want another drink when your empty glasses have been sitting at the edge of the table for 10 minutes, and then wait another 7 minutes after that. The Firepit is not that big in size that this should happen - it is an open dining room plan where all of the tables/booths can be seen by the wait staff. You can have the best food in the world, but poor service will eventually start to have an effect.
All in all though, never having a bad meal quality-wise at The Firepit, you should really should try them out, as the food does compensate for the occasional less-than-perfect service. We have been here at least 10 times now, and I still have not tried everything I want to try, and I have had something...
Read moreI came into town to visit a client and expressed my desire for a local spot rather than a national chain. We decided to try Firepit on a Saturday evening during prime dinner hours. The front desk personnel promptly greeted us, and our waitress provided exceptional customer service throughout the entire experience.
As an adventurous diner, I always like to surprise myself by asking the server to recommend a dish. This approach has never let me down, as the servers and chefs often know their specialties or prepare off-menu chef's specials. The waitress was incredibly helpful, attempting to guide me towards a choice, but I insisted on trusting her and the chefs with their recommendation. I also specified that I prefer my red meat cooked medium-rare.
The waitress conveyed my request to the chefs, who seemed excited about the challenge but also checked if I was comfortable with a higher-priced item. I approved, and they certainly did not disappoint!
The chefs prepared one of the best steaks I've ever had, served atop a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus. The dish was accompanied by a delightful sauce that perfectly complemented the entire meal.
Afterwards, the waitress checked in with me to ensure I was pleased with the meal, and I reassured her that it couldn't have been more perfect.
From the moment we walked in until we left, the level of attention from the staff was top-notch. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Firepit the next time I'm in town.
A big thank you to the Firepit crew for providing such a wonderful...
