Visited this restaurant 2 nights in a row because the first night's taste made us go back for more and all we had was simply nachos an order of tacos which never got eaten because of the huge portion of nachos given and a Chile Relleno. Mine was the appetizer topped with shredded chicken, beans, you name it. The chicken was juicy & tender, beans were just firm enough.. guacamole was delicious, I could have eaten that alone. I added white queso of course because..... cheese! The second guest ordered nachos Supreme which came with beef and chicken, both cooked well, they chose to forego the refried beans, I got them on the side & added them to mine of course because, well.... beans! Both dishes boasted super crispy chips, no fault to be found. The Chile Relleno, was so flavorful, I wanted it again on the second visit but trying different items is the point. The second night we indulged in multiple dishes for sharing... The first, Taquitos Mexicanos... they come with both shredded chicken and beef. The chicken was very dry & tough, left little to be desired. The beef was better after being drowned in white queso. Fajitas Cancun was the 2nd choice with chicken and steak as the meats for the dish. The veg were beautifully cooked, the meats just slightly overdone but still delicious & super filling. The guac & beans as good as expected, I'd still eat a bowl of either on their own. The last dish was the Mexico Special, 2 chicken quesadillas with cheese sauce. I imagine they were quite delicious because I only got to try a very small bite before they completely disappeared, lol. I can say that the shredded chicken was moist, juicy & flavorful & neither of us could say no to the white queso.... For a fruity start to the night, if that's your thing, the Raspberry Margaritas... absolutely delightful!! I have to give props to the staff as well, both of our servers were very pleasant and attentive even as the restaurant was flooded with people and there were only 2 of them buzzing through the room with smiles on their faces no...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying I LOVE Mexican food. I’ve tried so many places across Pittsburgh. I’ve been around we can say.
So I’ve been here twice. First time I got the burrito supreme. It’s always been one of my go too any restaurant I go too. The taste was great just like everywhere else. But man the steak was dry and tough as hell. I should have to chew for 45 seconds before I can swallow it.
My gf got some type of Mexican barbecue chicken rancho burrito. If I remember. Man when I tell you the sauce taste like it’s been in the crock pot for 8 hours on high heat I mean it. It taste so burnt.
They happily took the food back and we left. Completely ruined our appetite. Only had to pay for our drinks cool.
So today I’m like babe let’s go give it another shot. We both agreed.
I ordered the burrito deluxe (first time having it) and of course I had to order their Mexican sausage taco.
First. The the burrito deluxe way idk plain as hell. Ground beef was kinda mush like the meet was boiled in water. The chicken was a bit juicy. Not to bad but with the little sauce they gave me it kind of taste like I wrapped a unseasoned piece of chicken in a tortilla and that’s it
Second. The Mexican sausage taco was just HORRIBLE. Kind of had that Burnt taste that my girlfriend’s rancho burrito had. Taste absolutely nothing like sausage. NOTHING. Was mushy and SMALL for 5 dollars.
She enjoyed her taco salad tho.
I didn’t complain this time. Just paid the $47 left a nice tip and left.
Service is great. Food comes fast. Just seems like a lot of things are pre cooked and just re heated.
Bull river taco is...
Read moreLiterally worse Mexican food experience of my life. I asked for a "Medium Margarita" and the server coaxed me into a "large" by saying, "It's only a dollar or two more, the medium is very small." So, low and behold a giant fishbowl margarita comes out, and it is listed on my receipt as "Monster Margarita." I have to expense this receipt at work, and it was literally noon on a Wednesday. I'm sure that will go over well with the boss.... Furthermore, the margarita was very nearly undrinkable - it tasted like no margarita I have ever had, and it was not good. It was orange-colored, not green like a traditional margarita. I would have complained, but my server LITERALLY never came back. After taking my drink order, he NEVER came back. Ever. Not once.
My food came out with a food runner, who dropped it off and ran. My water was never refilled. I was supposed to get 3 tortillas with my fajitas, but I only got 2. I would have asked for more, EXCEPT A SERVER NEVER CAME BACK. Eventually, someone casually walked by and dropped off my bill and kept walking. I tipped $0 because I literally didn't have a server. How this happened, I will never know. Terrible experience, do...
