I was excited that a new Vietnamese Pho restaurant opened so close to work and home, we usually go down to Spring Mountain and eat, but it's so far and late at night even after work to drive for dinner. Tonight we decided to stop and try the place, they were busy and thought "Ok" the food must be good. Boy was that a understatement, I ordered the Seafood ChowMein and my son had the child's Pho with meatballs and Pork Eggrolls and my wife ordered the Bun Bo Hue noodle soup. My son's egg rolls came out and I took a bite, it was the worse egg rolls I have ever eaten, barely no pork, just vegetable. Then my Chow mein came out and I thought it was a appetizer, it was so boring looking and flavorless, the picture in the menu and what I got was not even close, it tasted (if any) and looked like they took a packet of Top Ramen noodles and put some blan sauce and some meat to the noodles. Then my wife Bun No Hue came out and I thought she ordered some wierd soup dish that I never seen before, she was so discusted by the look and the meat they put into it, another words it wasn't Bun Bo Hue that we are use to eating and seeing. She returned it and was so disappointed she didn't want to order something else and finally, they totally forgot my son's Meatball Pho, didn't even acknowledge the mistake. We will continue to drive to Chinatown and go to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant "Pho Noodle Cafe", we will never return to Pho Mai Mai again, at this rate they will not last long. You can always tell how good a Vietnamese restaurant is when you don't see any other Vietnamese patrons eating there. Just like any culture, we are the best judges when it comes to our own Homelands food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a horrible experience. I cannot speak for the food in general, but my advice to purchase drinks here is to not purchase at all. We ordered two mango flavored drinks, which they had the audacity to label this atrocious liquid as ābobaā. Firstly, the taste was a nastily expired banana flavor. We went to the front desk and talked to a woman who I think was the manager/store owner. We very kindly explained that we think they had made a mistake. She very rudely snapped back at us, and told us that it was āfresh mango.ā She kept on shouting that if we were that upset, we should just purchase a new one for full price. Not to mention that the boba itself cost 6.50 for one. We come from Texas, and we have tried many mango bobas for much, much lower prices, and not only did they taste better, but they tasted like authentic mango flavors. We knew for a fact that whatever she was serving us wasnāt what she claimed as mango. Another thing to think about is that she and the other workers wore no hair cap or gloves while creating the meals. Itās only mere luck that there wasnāt a hair in our drink. One other concern I have for the product Is the material. The cup of the boba was a cheap plastic, which broke almost immediately after the purchase, and spilled all over our car. In conclusion, my high hopes were not only dashed, but skewered by this HORRIBLE experience. Boba lovers around the world, much so as myself, if you are looking for a place to buy, I advise you to run the other way from Pho Mai Mai Restaurant. Not even this review can express my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food arrived very quickly. Had veggie pho, spring rolls, and vermicelli pork, the pho was pretty good, vegetables were bok choy, some broccoli and maybe onions. The vegetables were quite good as I haven't had pho that way before, usually I order just the plain without additional but it wasn't available on the menu. Was happy with the choice, the vermicelli with pork was ok but the pork was quite grisly. The spring rolls, no complaints the wrapper was slightly thinner than customary and wrapped a little loose but the flavor and peanut sauce were fine. The spring rolls were also priced lower than I'm accustomed @$5.99 for two so all in all I was happy with the food. The actual prices for everything are about 30-50% higher that shown on the internet menu. The service seems to be a popular complaint by several others and I would agree. There is something about the persona of the server, rude, direct, definitely not welcoming and helpful. She just doesn't seem the right fit for a service job...
