Spinners Bar and Grill — Restaurant in North Mankato

I only drink on rare occasions so I didn't go into Spinners for the first two years that I lived in the neighborhood---that was a huge mistake. Luckily there was a snow storm one day when I didn't feel like cooking, and I went into Spinners to give their burgers a try---and I've eaten 3-4 a week ever since. Their burger are some of the absolute best in town, but that isn't all they serve. Once or twice a week (thursday for sure) they do something called a Beef Comercial---beef and mashed potatoes piled high; it's filling and oh-so tender. Delicious. Then twice a week they also do a taco bar--where they fill their tacos to the brim and know how to make 'em. I've only had their drinks a few times--so I don't know much beyond they were good and reasonably priced (but what more could you want from a drink?). The staff are always polite and accommodating (and easy on the eyes to boot),the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I'm writing this review from the perspective of an unapologetic foodie---and being a bar means their menu is somewhat limited. I called and ordered a salad , we originally planned to use to lettuce for BLTs at home and the convenience of stopped into spinners sounded better than running to the grocery store vs stopping in at our local spinners located on my block. I paid for a whole salad and after getting home I realized I needed dressing with it. When I walked back to get dressing for the salad I ordered the employees refused to honor what I paid for saying I had wanted the salad plain and refused to acknowledge that I had paid it. It’s a small dive bar in lower North Mankato. A no frills, fairly affordable bar experience, however, the music 🎶 is usually too loud inside for its meager 1432SF of bar. It just makes it harder to have a conversation, that’s all.

It is usually a good overall experience, as long as the staff aren’t too grumpy.

The daily food specials are usually the way to go. They offer a good variety and at an affordable price.

The patio is quaint and attractive, and if you want less noise, typically the place to go. They offer live shows during the summer months.
