My parents and I were running errands, and we walked next door to see their menu. The Manager, Michel (pronounced Michelle) told us: "You can find our menu online, UberEats, GrubHub, and DoorDash." We told her it's our first time here. Michel welcomed us! We promised we'd be back. After finishing our errands, we walked in, and started looking at the menu on their interactive screens. Michel approached the register, recognized us, smiled, and welcomed us back. She answered all of our questions and impressed us with her knowledge of the menu's ingredients, sauces, etc. My Dad is very particular(picky) about his burgers, how he wants it cooked, no ketchup, no mayo, no sauce...just not very adventurous 😏 he keeps it pretty simple. He ordered the "Sweet" burger. He asked, "Do I have to get it well done? Or can I get it cooked to my liking?" Michel told him: "No. You can get it how you want it." My dad ordered his burger to be cooked "Medium, add lettuce, add tomatoes, no cheese." My Mom ordered the "Single Bacon Cheeseburger." She added lettuce, tomatoes, and instead of yellow cheese, she asked for white cheese. I ordered the "Texas" burger. We also ordered Fries and Mozzarella Sticks.
Our Thoughts: My Dad - "Excellent! As I requested! It was Medium cooked. Nice portions of everything on the burger. The caramelized onions, Oh my!, they were cooked perfectly! The bun was toasted and very good. And that's saying something for me, because I don't usually eat the bread. But I ate it on this burger! I had a very good experience. I will definitely return! The crinkle fries were excellent. The mozzarella sticks were very good. The marinara sauce was good too. Would be great over any kind of pasta." The picture with the juice in the bottom of the box, comes from this burger. My Mom - "It was very good. My burger was sloppy enough to make me lick my fingers! 😁 The portions were really nice too; the toppings were in each bite! The crinkle fries, I really liked them! They were not overly salted. I knew that they would keep my blood pressure down. I only ate one mozzarella stick, and it was good as is. I would definitely go back and try a different burger!" I really liked my burger. The Texas toast was soft and firm at the same time. I dipped my burger into the 4 different sauces, to taste how they would compliment the burger. I'm sorry I don't have the sauce names. However, I liked what I believe are their barbecue and TFTS sauces. They complimented without taking over the taste of the burger; simply adding to its already tasty flavor. The crinkle fries were good. Soft on the inside and a nice crisp outside. I really enjoyed the crunchy little pieces. The mozzarella sticks were nicely seasoned and tasted good. I looked closely and saw little flakes of salt. I used the marinara sauce, and it was good, but I enjoyed the sticks more by themselves! They weren't greasy at all. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. Yes, the cost is high, but the quality is worth it for us. Compared to other burger restaurants where you can order a la carte, TFTS stands out!, because you can order your burger to be cooked as you like it. The other restaurants only serves the burgers well done. And if you would like to substitute one cheese for a different one, you cannot. So, again, this is why we believe TFTS is worth the price in quality!!!
As I always advise, don't just take my(our) opinion(s) alone. Give "The Food Truck Store" a try. Taste and see for yourself. You just may find out that you enjoy their service...
Read moreI got bitten by the burger bug when I tried In-N-Out in a trip to California, and have been trying multiple burger places ever since then, from the big chains to the local places (Shake Shack, Five Guys, Culver's, The Habit, etc.) to the best local burger places mostly here in Miami.
The burger I ate from TFTS is, without a doubt in my mind, the best burger I've ever had. I feel like every time I tried a new burger, there was always something I wished was different about it, being the seasoning, the juiciness, the cooking style, the choice of toppings, the bun, the sauces, or something else. However, when I tried the "California" burger from TFTS, there wasn't a single thing I thought should be different.
The meat is smashed to the right size, beautifully seared (with mustard in the case of the "California"), well-seasoned, and super juicy. They use quality American cheese and it melts perfectly over the patties, and they use just the right amount. The potato bun is in my opinion the best choice of bun for a burger, squishy but keeps everything in its place, and delicious. Toppings are as fresh as they get and just in the right ratio to the meat, tomatoes are juicy, lettuce is crisp, grilled onions are done properly, and pickles are nice, thick and tart. Finally, their Thousand Island dressing is the best I've ever had (I'm a big fan of this dressing on burgers), and you'll get a lot of it with the California burger. All of these aspects come together and compliment each other perfectly, I honestly felt like Marshall from HIMYM when I had it for the first time.
Long story short, this is the perfect burger in my opinion, it doesn't get any better than this. After having this burger, I stopped trying other burger places, because this is the only burger I...
Read moreFirst time at TFTS and we will be back again. This burger store looks like a food truck inside, hence the name of the place. It is cleverly decorated with vibrant, bright colors to brighten your mood, or make you very hungry while you are trying to order. It smells so good inside also.
You order at the counter and get a pager. When it rings. You go to the back at the "food truck" and pick up your order and pick a table to eat at.
We both had the same burger - the OMG. It was really good. One beef patty, 1 layer of pulled pork, caramelized onions and cheese. Cooked perfectly and was delicious! You also get a big batch of fries,0 which were cooked to my liking also. You can add melted cheese to dip your fries in. I highly recommend that! Perfection.
I should mention that their prices for the burgers are on the higher side, closer to $20. But they are fresh and delicious. Fries included. Generous portions.
Parking is easy right in front. It's on the southwest corner of 135th and Biscayne Blvd. When you get a craving for a good burger with many, many varieties of making them, go here. There are about 15 tables here. It's a very inviting place. Wheelchair accessible, also wheelchair...
