It's truly disappointing to lose a gathering space we've supported for nearly two years, all because of a sudden shift in treatment and policies. Since late 2022, our small group has met here regularly, with our table always ordering food while others enjoyed drinks or coffee. We valued this place as a welcoming environment--until that changed.
There was a period when the service became outright dismissive. A particular waitress (who no longer seems to be there) would purposefully ignore our table, refuse to bring a simple cup of water, and even add extra tips on top of gratuity at checkout. On multiple occasions, we noticed staff taking videos of us as we dined, using our presence to make the restaurant appear busy when, in reality, it wasn't. What's worse is that instead of directly communicating with us, they would inform other groups of new policies designed to push us out, simply because a few of us didn't order full meals.
We were more than willing to respect the restaurant's requests. When they asked for at least one meal per two people, that was already happening--our group was always mindful of dietary restrictions, and those who couldn't eat a full meal still supported the business by ordering drinks, coffee, or soup. Now, suddenly, there's a $20-per-person minimum for a space that's often empty? It's frustrating to see this shift, especially after the warmth and professionalism we experienced with the previous waitress, who truly made us feel welcome before she left in mid Summer 2024.
Despite the disappointment, we do want to acknowledge and appreciate the time we were able to spend here before 2025 began. Thank you for the service and hospitality that once made this place...
Read moreMy friends and I have been regular patrons of this establishment, meeting every other Monday to enjoy the atmosphere and support the business. However, we have recently noticed a significant shift in how we are treated, particularly on days when the restaurant is nearly empty.
While some members of our group order food or drinks, we were recently informed of a new policy requiring every individual to spend a minimum of $20. This policy seems arbitrary and exclusionary, especially considering that even those who make smaller purchases are still contributing to the restaurant’s revenue. Rather than fostering a welcoming environment for loyal customers, this rule feels like an attempt to pressure patrons into spending beyond their means.
Given that the restaurant is often empty during our visits, it is difficult to understand the reasoning behind this policy—except that it appears to be selectively enforced against our group. Unfortunately, this has led us to question whether racial bias is a factor in how we are being treated.
A business that values its customers should focus on hospitality rather than imposing unfair and unnecessary spending requirements. We had enjoyed coming here, but this experience has left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued. It’s disappointing to see a restaurant prioritize greed over good...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment I called to make a reservation, the service was unacceptable. The hostess on the phone was extremely unpleasant and even hung up on me twice when I mentioned we were a party of nine. It was clear from her attitude that she was trying to close the restaurant as early as possible. Since we couldn’t book over the phone, we made a reservation through OpenTable.
When we arrived, the hostess seemed genuinely surprised to see us. Unfortunately, the poor service continued throughout the evening. Despite ordering both water and wine, they never arrived at our table. Meanwhile, the group of servers stood around chatting with each other, completely ignoring us and the other guests.
One of the most frustrating moments was when we started eating and realized that some of our party were missing their place settings, meaning they couldn’t even begin their meal. The waitstaff was indifferent, clearly more focused on closing early (on a Friday night!) than on taking care of their customers.
It’s a shame because the restaurant itself has a beautiful and well-maintained location, but unfortunately, the staff’s attitude ruins the experience. A place like this deserves a team that values hospitality and service, not one that treats customers as an...
