I was looking forward to trying this Persian fast casual restaurant, but was left very disappointed by my experience. The only real positives were that the restaurant was clean and service was friendly. I ordered two chicken kabob platters to go, which were $14 each. We waited 30 minutes for our food even though there was only one other customer in the restaurant. Completely unacceptable for a fast casual restaurant serving simple meals. I expected a proper big platter with chicken, rice, salad, hummus, and fresh pita. The platter was mostly rice, which was clumpy. The chicken itself was tasty and properly cooked and and the portion was decent, but by no means generous. The salad was uninspired with some greens, feta, onion, cucumber, a small amount of tomato, and a few olives. They gave one small piece of low quality pita that you would find at any grocery store. No hummus. The sumac sauce was delicious and was probably the highlight of the meal, sadly. Overall, the platter was comically overpriced at $14, considering what was offered. The 30 minute wait for such disappointment only added insult to injury. I thought that perhaps this was just an off night for them, but reading other reviews suggests that my experience is shared by many others. Overall, the poor value and long wait will keep me from visiting again. I cannot recommend this place. Very...
Read moreI love Rice, but I recently became allergic to some foods, while not knowing what foods they were precisely, but knowingly spices are in the list, I became afraid of eating some foods as they are marked without spicy/spices and then I have a reaction. So, it happened before at Rice, I ate Braised Beef when they said there were no spicy/spices no pepper on it, to eat and have a reaction. Lately I have been asking for the chicken, 3 out of 4 times I ate without reactions. So now it puts me on the edge when I order the chicken. Anyways, fast forward to yesterday, at this location, I asked for a small spoon of the chicken so my husband can test it to see if it is ok to eat- the attendant said - "NO, WE DON'T GIVE FREE SAMPLES" First of all it is NOT A FREE SAMPLE - its a little spoon of a food that I intend to buy. Secondly, extremely irresponsible Third, completely insensitive. I already wrote to corporate, no replies, no follow ups, no interest, and no changing of policy for special needs. Therefore I will continue to write my reviews anytime I go and get a NO. BTW, in one location, not this one, the 1st attendant was rude, and 2nd one was the one that helped me because she knows the situation as she have a kid with similar situations. I usually buy catering food at Rice for my corporate get togethers..I...
Read moreI recently placed an order with Rice Mediterranean Kitchen via the Uber Eats app for pickup. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was surprised to find that my order was not in their system. Initially, there was no clear resolution, and I was left without assistance. Faced with the dilemma of canceling through Uber Eats—which would result in being charged for a meal that was supposedly prepared yet denied by the restaurant—I decided to leave and return later. The experience felt like an endless back-and-forth, reminiscent of a frustrating game of cat and mouse.
Unfortunately, this incident reflects a growing trend in the food industry where customer service and problem resolution seem to be in decline. Over the past year, many establishments have struggled with consistency—not just in delivering flavors that keep customers coming back, but in providing an overall experience that begins with simple respect and care for patrons.
Is this just the way things work now? Perhaps. But it's disappointing to see hospitality taking a backseat to inefficiency, especially in an industry built on creating enjoyable experiences...
