We popped into City Club today on a total whim, hunting for a gyro like two flavor-seeking missiles—and boy, did we lock onto the right target. This place might look like your average small-town bar, but don’t let the modest exterior fool you. Inside, it’s serving up Greek goodness with a side of charm.

🥙 The gyro was a masterpiece: juicy, well-seasoned meat that didn’t need rescuing from dryness, buttery pita that could moonlight as comfort food, and tzatziki that knew how to make an entrance without stealing the whole show. Portion size? Generous enough to make you question your life choices—but in a good way. And the fresh-cut fries? Crispy, golden, and clearly made by someone who respects the potato.

🧀 Saganaki cheese was a little greasy, sure—but let’s be honest, if you’re ordering flaming cheese at a bar, you’re not here for kale and restraint. It was rich, salty, and absolutely delicious. OPA!

I had never heard of this dump before today, but I found it on doordash and decided to take a chance. Turns out, that was a terrible decision. I received a confirmation email so I thought everything was fine. I get a msg from the driver about 30 mins. later saying "the restaurant messed up, call them." I call only to have the owner attempt to shake me down for more money because the price of the wings nearly doubled and he failed to update his pricing info in the app. The proper way to handle this would've been for someone on staff to reach out to doordash, who would've contacted me and given me a chance to decide what I wanted to do. Instead, he essentially decided to hold the order hostage until the driver got there and opted to waste my time as I waited for nothing since he never actually started any part of it. Then, when I called doordash to cancel, the owner claimed they never confirmed the order. I would say that's a lie, but I think the screenshot of the actual confirmation says it better. I also have the receipt after they accepted payment for the order they "never confirmed". If you want to place an order, and actually eat someday then do it...

City club is primarily a bar with great bar food, and some of the best — most authentic Greek food. If you have ever been to the rocky river or the kamms corner Greek festival, that’s the kind of authentic food you can find at this hidden gem. This includes, the lamb chops, the flaming saganaki cheese (tastes better than any grilled cheese), the double filled gyro, etc. They also have dolmades at times. Omg, you guys please watch the video of how they frame the saganaki cheese right in front of you. It is soooo cool!!! They also have other amazing specialties like lemon chicken picada, etc. If you want to try some of the authentic Greek food, make sure you call ahead and ask if the chef and owner is there.
