TJ Hibachi & Sushi — Restaurant in North Olmsted

Visited in January of 2018: This was a close call between 2 and 3. I opted to give it a 3 because it was definitely better than a 2, and I'm giving these guys the benefit of the doubt.

Upon walking into this place, I found myself immediately confused by the lack of hibachi grills. I've been to a couple hibachi restaurants in the past and they've all had the grill as part of the table, and the meal is something of a performance in addition to ordinary food. Unfortunately, this place did not have that. Immediately -1 star. Then, we ordered our appetizer, the calamari rings, only to find that they were GIANT gummy thick rings, instead of the small crunchy rings I've come to be familiar with everywhere else that I've gotten calamari. The size would have been an upside except that the texture was atrocious. Another -1 star. We didn't even finish the (quite small) calamari appetizer because it was so bad.

Anyways, fast forward to our meals, the prices were fair albeit a little high for the area, and the food was well seasoned and tasty, though the wait was a bit long for how empty the restaurant was. Nothing really to complain about or take note of here.

This place has gone down hill. Didn't even have the energy today to put up a fight about the guy that wear a pony tail that grills, he let the uncooked meat touch my veggies. Had to throw the whole meal away. Didnt even want to cause a scene due to myself not even feeling good and I work at the mall on my lunch break. I got my food and threw it away. Instead of getting my money back or even attempt to I'll just let all my mall friends know about the un sanitized way of cooking operation they are running here. No reason why he is cooking un cooked chicken so close next to peoples orders that has already made it on the grill. At least make it away from peoples food. Sad to say but i won't be back and neither will a few others of my friends once word gets out. Very rude customer service, see the other recent reviews that say the same. This place used to have a 5 star rating from me, which it absolutely deserved at one time. Ever since I was handed someone else's order I have been treated like a criminal. I delivered what they gave me in a tied sealed bag to my customer not knowing the wrong food was inside. So now they interrogated me as to what I did with the food and when I explained it they said the customer came in and said he didn't get the food so where is the food, and they are rude to me every time I come to pick up another order.
