Read moreWhile visiting Ohio, I came across Saffron Patch West, an Indian restaurant in North Olmsted. Since I love Indian food, I was excited to give it a try.
Right from the start, the experience was pleasant. The manager, Zarna, was very kind and welcoming. She even recommended her personal favorite, which was the Samosa Chaat. I’m really glad we tried it — it was delicious! The flavors were well-balanced, the texture was just right, and it was a great appetizer to begin with.
After that, we ordered a few different types of naan. Unfortunately, they didn’t have Rumali Roti available at the time, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to trying it.
We also ordered a paneer sabji (cottage cheese curry). Like many Indian restaurants, it had a basic tomato-based gravy, nothing new or unique about the flavor. However, the paneer itself was very fresh and soft, which stood out. It was great to have such good-quality paneer.
Along with that, we got dal makhani and rice. Again, the dal was quite standard — the same kind you get at most Indian restaurants in the U.S. It wasn’t bad, just not something memorable.
Toward the end of our meal, Zarna kindly brought us house-made shrikhand to try. It was excellent — very fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. You could tell it was homemade, and I appreciated the gesture.
The overall experience at the restaurant was nice. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. However, I do feel that the cleanliness could have been better, especially in the restrooms. They weren’t well maintained, and I even had to ask someone to clean them, which was not ideal.
In summary, I would say the food was a mix of standard and standout items. The Samosa Chaat and the shrikhand were the highlights of our visit. If you visit, I definitely recommend trying those. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, this place could easily offer a much better...

I've been here maybe 10 times since 2020-21 and this place is the absolute best Indian cuisine in Northeast Ohio ive ever had, very authentic. The atmosphere is cozy fancy but not too fancy. It's a wonderful place to bring a group of friends or have the family at. The as amazing as the food is, the service is even better. Everytime I have visited, I have had the same waitress and she is an absolute sweetheart 💓 that is very mindful of her guests and will always make sure you have a great experience. She is a real treasure to the establishment.
They have Bollywood playing on the TVs all the time too, which is entertaining with all the dancing and Indian flair.
In the picture I got... -Chicken Tikka masala
-Saag Goat(saag paneer is absolutely to die for and tbh that is going to be another go-to dish for me, it's nice having some vegetarian dishes)
-Achari Lamb(my favorite) that has these very tasty I believe green mango or lime pickles that are kind of out of this world. No American cuisine comes even close to the uniquely tasting Achari. The pickles are kind of mind blowing with their floral notes and just maybe zesty bust of flavor...one of the hardest foods for me to describe....just get it and be sure to ask about the pickles. It can be a very acquired taste...but it doesn't disappoint...I've made many of my friends try it and they love it.
-Garlic Naan -and then this additional Naan that I believe was stuffed with a meat and lots of cilantro.
Oh yea...and their custom cocktails are all absolutely amazing...I can go on about how good those are too, but I think I'd make this review too long. 🙉🙈
-they also have really good water. There really are no negatives to...
