There was four of us in total. My fiance birthday was yesterday he wanted to go there. Its always popular here in North port. Our friend and her little girl and myself. My friend ordered a steak it was burnt on one side and very overcooked and was tough, her little girl was served a very raw cheese burger, purple raw. My fiance got the shrimp and scallops dinner with two sides, his shrimp were very tough ,the menu said parmesan butter potatoes, it was a light sprinkle of Parmesan with the plain whole potatoes on the plate like wtf, I had the seafood salad with crab and shrimp. It was the smallest amount of crab I have ever seen. Which I'm sick as hell today mind you. Our waitress Alice, which she was very pregnant was very nice and kept checking on us was great at her job. She was the best part out of that horrible experience. We had a manager come over which this lady seemed like she could care less about what we said. Offered us nothing to fix it or make it better. All she said was we have a new cook. What the hell does that have to do with anything. Who serves a child a raw burger.us adults could have been fine with the mistakes. That's was the final straw. Our awesome waitress tried to make it right. She took off our friends meal and her little girls, we paid for our horrible food. They gave us a 15 gift card. She tired to give him a key lime pie for his bday. No one liked that kind. It was the thought that counts. We did tip her. Our friend was treating us for his birthday and abd she still paid 80. Something for terrible food. I would say I would never go back there. It was a terrible experience. Please parents check your child's food if you eat here. It might be raw with there new cook. Someone needs some more trainings instead of with the public. That's...
Read moreWent in here for a job interview for my wife. Got there at 4:25. Met with Christina 3 hours earlier that day, who told us to come back before 6 to speak with Tyler. Tyler was at the store, was told he would be right back, and were told to wait in the bar area. I ordered a chardonnay for my wife, and a beer for me. The green-haired bartender handed me a wine glass, with a dead fly in it. I asked her for another wine, and she asked, "Why?" To which, I pointed out the dead floating fly in the glass. Green hair took the glass, and I'm not making any of this up, dumped the wine out, and then poured me another wine IN THE SAME GLASS!!!! She handed it to me, and I said, "You're joking, right?" Green hair said, "About what?" I said, "You just dumped out a glass full of wine with a DEAD FLY FLOATING IN IT, and then used tire same glass to refill!!" She goes, "Oh? You want a clean glass?" After all of that, Tyler returned to the bar, where 3 different people told us he'd be right with us. We watched as he wandered about, talking with patrons, stopping at the server station, and kept milling about aimlessly... FOR 45 MINUTES! He never once acknowledged us. As former owners of four bar/restaurants, I can state unequivocally that if a business needs 5 managers there to make the business run, you're doing something wrong. If you keep on staff bartenders that have no problem serving you libations in a dirty glass, then you're doing something wrong. I get that this place is packed every day, but could that simply be because that North Port is woefully lacking in bar/restaurant establishments? Won't be going...
Read moreWe were excited to try the new Anna Maria Oyster Bar location in North Port and went for lunch today. Since Leftcoast Seafood Company permanently closed (Ian) in Venice, there has been a giant oyster-sized hole in our hearts, so we were very hopeful.
Building is large, lots of lights and a wonderful color scheme inside. I thought the tables and seating were very comfortable and spacious.
Service was great from start to finish. I had a coke and my wife had a pina colada. As this was our main meal of the day, we went all out, sans dessert. We split an appetizer of coconut shrimp. This was six huge perfectly battered shrimp with a nice apricot horseradish marmalade.
For our mains, my wife got the grouper almandine with a side of fries and a cup of bisque as her two sides. I had the clam strips platter, added on 6 fried oysters, along with fries and a cup of chowder.
Grouper was a huge delicious portion perfectly cooked. Clam strips were excellent - tender and plentiful. Oysters were also quite good. Fries were excellent - extra crispy and blazing hot. Curious if they double fry them.
Clam chowder was great - not overwhelmed with potatoes, just nice proportions of tender clams to the base. Lobster bisque had a good sherry taste but unfortunately this batch seemed to be over salted, which was a shame.
We will definitely be back to try some other things. As lunch crowd filled up, everything seemed to be running smoothly, so kudos to them for working so hard to get this new location up and running. We left happy and...
