Five Guys — Restaurant in North Port

This used to be our go-to, and we went here often enough to recognize the staff. We have been busy moving and decided to bring my partners father here. Well, they really fell short this time. Generally, this location has amazing food, customer service is on part, and the food always comes out hot and fresh. Well, I can no longer say this about this location. We waited a solid 35 mins for our food. When we finally got our food called the burgers were cold and the fries were room temperature at best. So I'm really wondering what they were waiting 35 mins on. Not only that but I did not recognize a single staff member and they all seemed to be in slow motion or dancing and singing around the kitchen in stead of working. The only good service was the older lady at the front counter who was quick and nice and when she didn't have a line was the only one I saw leave the counter to help clean, even though we were the only order that had been placed for a while and they had no excuses not to get our order out quickly and have time to clean up before the next rush they were all just slowly moving and it resulted in a dirty resturant and cold foor for the guests. I'm not sure what changes have occurred but very dissatisfied. I also put in a request for contact from corporate and requested contact via email. Well, the store manager keeps calling me even though the reason I requested contact via email should be to be able to stay private, and they should just respect it he has yet to email me. I cannot talk on the phone, and he has made no other effort to reach out...

Upon entering, I noticed the amazing smell permeating the plaza was emanating from the kitchen. The look of the restaurant was very retro and vintage. It felt like I'd taken a wrong turn and ended up in the 80s. Packs of peanuts and potatoes were lined up forming a makeshift wall leading to the cashier. Friendly fellow. My friend and I both ordered similar burgers, mostly everything on each. Took about 8 minutes for our number to be called. As soon as we opened our behemoth burgers up, oldies started playing from the kitchen. But that didn't take my gaze off the major difference between our burgers. His was very prim and proper, despite being loaded. Mine was literally overflowing, and as I picked it up to take a bite I was greeted with most of my grilled onions and hot sauce falling onto my wrapper. It was almost followed by the rest of my burger before I grabbed it and began trying to put it back together. But it was too late. My hands were soaked and my burger was in pieces. SORRY, NOT A FAN! Those who know me, also know I love my meat very, very rare (almost raw!) I met my friend Janet here for lunch and had been told that this fast food place had really delicious burgers, and from the reviews, it sure sounded like a winner. However, when I asked if I could have a very rare burger, the answer was: "Sorry, ALL our burgers are WELL DONE!!!" Now that does not even make sense, since they advertise that all their meat is fresh, not frozen, so why can't they cook it as per request???? So I opted for a GRILLED CHEESE, which was a big mistake. I don't know what bread they used, it was tasteless, just a big disappointment. To make matters worse, I was told they had no coffee!!! What???? Janet was happy enough with her burger, fries and coke, but I for one would never go back to this...
