Mattress Firm North Port — Hotel in North Port

STAY AWAY FROM MATTRESS FIRM!!!!!If you don't want to pay for "nothing" then stay away from Mattress Firm. We purchased a complete bed from them and even though their commercials tell you that they are sleep experts and they'll do anything to get you in your perfect bed, it's not true. We had to exchange the first bed because it was as hard as laying on the floor, even though my side was supposed to be plush soft. When we went to exchange the first bed we were told that you can't judge the comfort level by the beds in the store, which they had us test before we bought. That because so many people lay on those test models it wouldn't be accurate. That the softness or firmness of those displays could take years and a lot of people laying on them. But we were not told that when we pick this model out the first time. So we exchanged it for a second bed from them. They were going to charge us fees, a delivery fee for the second bed and a 20% restocking fee for the first bed,, they finally decided not to. But then when the second bed turned out to be completely to hard and us not able to sleep at all in it, they are now charging us close to $600 to return that bed and cancel the order. We have only had the second bed for a few weeks. We were told there's nothing they can do about it, they have to charge us a restocking fee. So just to give you a WARNING, if you buy from Mattress Firm and do not like the bed for whatever reason, Mattress Firm will charge you a 20% restocking fee and charge you to pick up the bed you are returning. It is costing us $535, for nothing, as we canceled the order. Plus, there is also another $65 difference between what they say they're going to refund us and what we're having to pay back. So if you're not made of money STAY AWAY from Mattress Firm. We went to a couple other mattress places after we left Mattress Firm to see what they charged for their restocking fees. "Rooms To Go" said they only charge a $50 restocking fee which is a very reasonable amount, we would have gladly paid that. Mattress Firm rips you off badly. We are now going to be out close to $600 for absolutely nothing but sleepless nights, back & body aches for a little over a month-and-a-half now. (That time frame includes the first bed we purchased from them. )

Update on my above post about "MATTRESS FIRM". Just wanted to let everyone know that we have finally purchased a GOOD BED!! We found a very good salesperson and was provided with great customer service from "Rooms To Go" in Port Charlotte. The bed is exactly what we tried at the store, NO FAKE or Misrepresentation of their products. We purchased a "Purple" bed. We had the first good sleep in a long while. The salesperson spent a lot of time with us and addressed all our concerns. He understood and was very sympathetic to us for what "Mattress From" had put us through. We are so happy to deal with a company that cares about what their customers think and go out of their way to make you happy. Yes, we are still out a lot of money from the bad practices and misrepresentation of Mattress Firms products and policies. They still haven't tried to "make it right". After a completely awful experience with Rooms To Go store in Port Charlotte, it was refreshing dealing with a company that was honest and straightforward with us. We recieved more product and warranty protection for 25% less money, dealing one on one with a salesman instead of the salesman having to get everything approved by a manager (essentially dealing with an an unknown). Cudos to Raymond and Andy for their efforts. I highly recommend them if you're shopping for a bed. I would also recommend being very cautious about Rooms To Go. They were dishonest with me and their assistant managers only comments to me were "That's our policy" and "Sorry you feel that way". Code for "Sorry about your luck buddy....now get lost!" I had to cancel my transaction with them through my bank to avoid having to wait 2 weeks for a return of my money....

My husband and I went in yesterday really only to try out beds, how they feel and then shop around. Andy was our salesperson, very calm and knowledgeable. I knew from their website the prices there were a bit over our price range of $1000. We explained we had a 11 year old mattress, we are in our 30’s with horrible body pain and our budget was $1000. Boy he did a great job and was very patient. He answered all my questions and pointed us in the right direction, each time letting us know the price. He showed us some mattress in a box options and we expressed our concern with the height for our platform and he showed us what each height felt like. He explained the return policies.
