
Summary: Ordering online was easy enough. This was the best part of the experience. The food was ok, and the girl at the register was very nice but didn't overcome the 1 star service, marred by poor communication between kitchen and wait staff and worse communication to the customer. I saw at least 6 people working and presumably more, so I can't accept that low staffing was the culprit here.
At 3:45, I placed an order for 4:30 pickup. I left work late and arrived at 4:40. The first issue is that there is no line for online pickup. I wait in the long line (one person ahead of me but it takes over 10 minutes to take the order). Once I get to the front, I make them aware that I am here to pick up my online order, which they say will be ready soon. The order was supposed to be ready at 4:30, but it's not a fast food joint. This is an established restaurant and sometimes things take time to do it right.
So I wait patiently. And I see multiple people who came in after me get their orders before me, some online orders, some walk-ins. I am little frustrated, but still understanding. I walk up to the counter and ask how long my food is going to take. I keep being told it will be ready soon. I have to be in Akron by 6pm for foster parent training. If I'm late. I will not get credit for the course.
I try to go to the person handing food over the counter to tell them I have to leave, and I am simply ignored. I leave at 5:05. I go home pick up my wife, briefly see my kids for about 2 minutes because they took away my only chance I got to see them that day, and scurried back to the restaurant for one final attempt to collect my food.
I get there and again they say my food is not ready. This time they tell me that there is no more pulled pork for my sandwich. I wasn't upset, because I just wanted to make sure that my mother and my wife had something to eat. But why couldn't they have told me this 30 minutes ago? They tried to offer me something else, but I told them to please just give me what was there, because I didn't have time to wait any longer. Instead, they made me wait longer, but I discovered later that this was to make my pork sandwich. So thanks for giving me something to eat.
I leave with my food in hand at 5:24; almost a full hour after it was supposed to be ready.
The food was fine. Just about as expected, but my wife didn’t like how much sauce was on her wings and I didn’t like how little sauce was on the sandwich. Also, I thought it would be on a bun, not two slices of wheat bread. This meant that once I got to my sandwich, the bread was completely soggy. I suggest using buns or at least white bread. This will help prevent your bread becoming so water-logged.

Read morebeing in management, I can spot a business under poor management a mile away . I visited b and m on miles road for the first time ever 5/27/18 late night around 11:45pm. I ordered a rib dinner and my spouse ordered the beef rib dinner. .our order number was 40 - our friends order number was 42 . Upon ordering we were notified that we would only receive 4 rib bones - but clear as day on the HUGE menu they have hanging , it says 5 bones come with the dinner ... I was confused as to why - smiths cashier said "idk why they won't change it, but I'm telling you it's only 4"..... that's where my customer service / management experience kicked in ... so you're telling me that what I see IS NOT what I GET ?? That's false advertising and LYING ! I didn't make a scene ... I just continued my order . The menu said that DINNERS COME WITH 2 SIDES , so I told her I would like potato salad and coleslaw . She told me that it would be and extra dollar because I'm changing my sides . I said , well I see that dinners come with 2 sides , I'm telling you the sides is choosing ... she said NO , the sides are coleslaw and French fries ... I said well your menu doesn't say that ?! So why am I being charged extra!!??? Again , she said - that menu is old ... and she doesn't know why they won't change it ..... Yet again , no scene was made ... I paid $32 for my food and stood to the side to wait . People started to pour in .... and after 15mins they called my friends order ... even though we ordered before them . I happen to see the guy looking up front at me , she told the woman he was preparing food with that they missed my order , that we were before number 42 . The women in the back said "OH WELL, THEY JUST GONNA HAVE TO WAIT" .... I was over it at this point , disappointed and a little disrespected . I spent my money in an establishment that lied to me , gave me poor customer service and disregarded my time . It was an experience that I won't put my self through again . I tried calling this morning - waited for a manager to come to the phone - after 15mins .... they just took my name and number and said she would call when she has time . I heard mixed reviews of this place , but my final thoughts ??? As a black woman , I'm disrespected enough in this world , i don't need the extras ..... especially from a black owned...
Read moreI ordered 3 Rib tip combos with the 2 wings and a side of mac and cheese! I got home and looked in the box the rib tips were chopped up pieces of old rib flaps with no bones! This is for all 3 dinners, chicken, fries and mac was alright! I tried to eat the tips but they were hard, tough and dry. Some of them tasted as if they were on the verge of spoiling, it was so bad I chewed one and spit it it back in the box and threw it in the trash! My daughter threw hers away as well, the flies didn’t even touch it!! I stopped back the next day to complain and one of the managers was really polite and offered to replace the 3 orders of tips, which I was pleased with! The owners daughter came out with a very nasty attitude and said I’m not replacing anything without the food! I said ok I’ll go get it out the trash and she said do it! I also talked to the owner Greg via the cook who was there watching the game, he said I asked them yesterday if they were checking the food before sending it out! Greg said it’s our ilicy that you have to return the food for a replacement. I went home and got the food out of the garbage and returned with it! By that time the owner was there and saw me with the bag and immediately told the nice manager to replace the food and she did! I got outside and checked my food, 2 were actual tips and 1 were bits and pieces. I took it back in and showed it to the owner, his statement was they chopped it up to small, I was afraid that the mean manager put my food out the trash in another box and covered it in that nasty bbq sauce. He took it back and brought me a box of tips! Well you would think I was pleased until I got home and heated it up! The food tasted old and covered in that nasty sauce!! All I can say is Thanks but no thanks!!! No more...
